mid cap does not feed properly?

Hey guys,

This is a noob question. I just received some new magazines from airsoftgi (ARES ak47 105rds) and i tried putting cheap walmart bb's in them though, they dont feed properly. I could put lots of bb's in it with a speed loader but after my first shot, the others gets stuck, the spring is like stucked or something, making the bb's not going up .... Is this a bb problem or the magazine itself? is there a way to fix the springs? I tried taking one out and they are not that straight, i'm guessing this could affect the spring performance? The bb's are not polished.

I really wanted to buy bb bastards but SurplugIG are out of them so i can only use walmart bb's to practice at home.

Thank you for your time.

First, BB's. Wlamart BB's are shit, generally not perfectly round, have burrs, etc. Put in real BB's. If they're .12s, don't even think about shooting them in your gun. They'll rip the living shit out of it.

Next, take some silicone oil and drop a few drops into the magazine. New mags generally need to be oiled a bit.

It could be the low quality of the BB's itself.

I had tried some low quality .25's in my M4 and although they did not have seams or anything really sucked and wouldn't feed properly in my gun. I however have had success with BB Bastard, MetalTech, Madbull, and BB King.

EDIT: Oiling the mag might help as may removing the feeding spring and stretching it out (giving the spring more "push" in the mag to actually push the BB's out).

Since silicone oil is safe for rubber your hop-up should be fine but you don't want anything on your hopup (or it isn't as effective) so after doing the oiling thing feed some BB's in and just eject them out by hand, in addition just to be safe run a cleaning rod with a cloth on the end of it through your barrel. HTH.
