Having trouble removing my Delta ring

I've got a TM SR-16 with a custom RIS front kit that sits flush against the upper receiver. I'm switching my front kit out but I'm having trouble removing what I think is the delta ring. I've never seen any like it on the net so I can't find any resources on how to remove it properly. Here are some pictures of it:

I've tried with all my might and some tools to try and screw it off but it won't budge. I'm close to tearing apart my upper receiver to get to the metal bits at the front end and really taking a close look to see how the heck the thing is stuck on there so good.

Any help would be appreciated.

Pictures work now. And also, I bought this gun used in its current condition so I don't know who makes this delta ring thing.

It came with whatever rail kit that was put on it. Ideally, they make a wrench designed for this. It has two or more little pieces that slot into those holes so that you can unscrew it.
Personally, I just use some vice, or even a set of pliers. Put both ends of the pliers into two of the slots (set them apart by as many holes as you can) and then reef it. Its not good for the holes, you can mess up the shape a bit.. But its a last resort.

I've tried using vice grips to unscrew it. I've put as much torque as I can on it without damaging the receiver. I don't care about the parts for the old rail kit since I'll never use it again. I just want this bugger off.

There is a special armorer's wrench for the delta ring so you dont destroy it, your way can work but go easy. You need to heat the delta ring up, use a butane crack lighter, get it nice and hot it will come off

OH YEAH!!! I got some help from my little brother. I held the receiver firm with both arms and he torqued the heck out of a it with the vice grips and we got it off. I'll post pictures of my gun once I get everything installed.

There I've (nearly) finished the installation of my new Madbull JP front kit. All that's left to do is cut the inner barrel down to size and I'm good.

I should've taken a picture before I took off the RIS. it had a cool integrated silencer but no visible delta ring and it was all scuffed up.

Don't cut the barrel unless you have access to a machine shop that can properly re-crown it...

But that looks like a Madbull Black Python VII... I wouldn't cut that, the coating on that thing will strip and the barrel will become very useless.

Just buy an inner barrel that's the right size

Will cutting the barrel really cause that much damage that it will become useless? I don't see how chopping off a few centimeters could do that so long as I keep everything nice and clean.
