What time does everyone usually get together? I'll have to stop by and meet everyone.

Anything going on this weekend?
There are JOC run minisims at Rampage Paintball Outdoor on Sunday July 12th which is North of Okotoks starting at 11AM. Do you have a gun or gear? You can come and get Age Verified by Gish who is the admin running it. A couple of guys got Age Verified on the Wednesday game at Bragg Creek also.

I was hoping to get a gun within the next week or so. Not too sure what I want to buy, but I was hoping something.....deicent.

Where do you guys usually get your Gear and BDU's from?

Lots of players play their first couple games without any gear or BDUs. A bunch of guys came in hoodies and jeans last Wednesday and even stayed when it rained!

Most people buy their gear online. If you are in a pinch and need stuff in Calgary there is Crown Surplus and Seal's Action Gear which are local stores (but pricey).

All you Calgary guys, just register on JOC and you might be able to find a rental from somebody. That's what 2 guys did last game.

If you are looking for a much tighter forum community, you should definitely register on the JOC forums. The guys over there are just as friendly as ASC and communicate well.

Yeah, I registered over there, thanks for the advice. Im probably going to buy a rifle today or tomorrow.

A Friend of mine has a near brand new TM M14 OD with everything included. Whats a good price to pay for one of those? I think he used it once.

M14s tend to be rather long rifles, which would make it hard to move around with in Laser Trek. Also, Laser Trek has a velocity limit of 320 FPS with .2 gram BBs. Ask your friend what velocity the gun puts out at.

You can use the m14 outdoors. A TM m14 is worth quite a bit. $500+

Haha, he wont say. Its probably best not to ask.

I think Im going to pass on it for now, Im just going to go with something lower end and cost efficient first. I wont make the same mistake I made with guitar, when I went out and bought a $3500 gibson, and broke my hand a month later hahaha.

That's a strange analogy because I found that airsoft guns are like guitars. You get what you pay for when you are starting out. If you start out with crap, you won't enjoy yourself as much, you'll end up spending more money anyway to get up to par, and you won't learn as quickly.

Airsoft is like Guitars because its an addiction. You never stop at one. You see one on a film, or perhaps you've always wanted a particular rifle and gotta have it. I had 5 guitars, ranging from $100 SG clones, all the way to $3500 Gibson. I bought them because someone famous imfluenced me to 'must have' it. In the end circumstance turned them all into expensive decorations. I sold all but one. I've also grown up since then.

Point is, I just dont want to spend $1000 for example and find that airsoft just isn't for me. However, the most important lesson I've ever learned, is the more you play, the better you get. They better you get, the more you WANT to play.

I heard there's a game around Bragg Creek Sunday, July 19. But it's a game for newbies so I'm not sure if you want to join or not.
