My Armalite is Cursed.

All right folks, ready for the next installment of why is my gun fucked now?
So for some reason my G&G GR 16 stopped working. It will fire once the "freeze", I play with the selector switch and it may or may nor cycle once more etc etc... I have had this problem before when I first put on the metal Dboys body. What was happening was that the plate on the secector switch was too large and it was seizing the bushings and gear. I swapped out the plate to a thinner one and it worked fine for about 2 months. Now out of the blue its happening again. The selector switch is really tight, I have topush really hard to change fireing modes. I took it apart regreased and shimmed it and no dice. Any suggestions? I am really really sick of this cursed gun.

Take it to a gun doctor to have a good complete look-over?

if the selector switch is very tight, take sand paper/file and sand/file it down just a tad bit. Dboys bodies arent bad but they have some fitting issues do to their beefyness.

cheers.

also, because it was so tight, check the 2 little metal connectors that the selector plate enages in order to fire semi or auto, make sure they are bulging out at an equal distance.

The disc inside the body that activated the selector plate is too thick and binds one of the gear axles. This is common on DBoys aftermarket bodies. I had the same problem with mine and it had me stumped for months.

You can sand the disc down a bit with a dremel, or just get a new selector switch. I prefer the latter option, as once it's sanded down, it doesn't engage the selector plate as well anymore.

I had aleady changed the selector switch to one with a thinner disc. It worked fime for a while. No clue what the problem was the second time. I was playing around with the selector switch and I heard a pop. Then it worked like normal again.

A good solution to all these mystery parts is to not use cheap, low-end stuff... The way I see it, the amount of time your gun will be down having strange mystery problems and the chance that your gun will break mid-game is not worth the little bit that you save buying low end parts.

The importers are still stuck in 6 months ago's prices, and because of all the new cansoft and all the cheap crap prices have deflated an insane amount... It' just not worth the hassle anymore

Probably your shimming and/or bushings that can cause a problem with your selector plate.
