Hob-E-Lube

I got some Hob-E-lube from a friend.

Does anyone know if this is safe for use on gbb seals? It says safe for plastics and paints on the label.

Their site doesn't explain what the composition of the lubricants are. Check it out here: http://woodlandscenics.woodlandsceni...dardHob-E-Lube

It would be great if these are compatible with airsoft parts. The "7 Pak" comes with many different viscosities, for different areas of the gun.

Read the instructions if you the original box and manual.

includes all seven lubricants plus complete instructions that spell out precise applications and the exact lubricant to use. Be prepared. Know where and when to use which lube: nonconductive, nonstaining, penetrating,
I just went out and bought some 20wt shock oil the other day for my seals, recommended is a lighter oil (AI sells a specially sourced 1.5 wt oil) but 20 was the lowest the hobby shop sold, you may be able to get 5 or 10 wt. It was like $3.99 + tax (came out to around $4.50) for a bottle of 60mL.

Update:

Got a reply back from these folks. Here is a quote:
"We do not supply silicone oils...they are all petroleum based.
Therefore, we do not see any issues of the oil being compatible with plastic or rubber materials."

That is just the opposite of what people say on these forums. lol, more confusion.

LOL, people always come with random stories about wierd lubricants and oils they found and ask if they work. What's next? Olive Oil? Artificial Butter they got at the movie theatre?

Do what everyone says - use silicone oil. Even the slightest amounts of petroleum products - even in the carrier or aerosol can damage your o-rings over time. If you are greasing mechanical components - go for some lithium or graphite or molybdenum grease. Never use the ugly white stuff (Lith Ease).

Hop-E-Lube is for model trains and PVC plastics. Why would anybody ever even consider using it for something where perfect airseals are neccessary? Silicone oil is cheap as heck and a little bottle will last you like 5 years! I spilled 75% my bottle by accident and I've been using it for an entire year and it doesn't look like the volume has changed at all. You are only using a few drops at a time afterall.
