In short, the G&P models are the best using a V2 gearbox.
I love my Classic Army with a little work done to it and after replacing the box with a MAG brand box. A&K is a similar, lighter clone of the CA. |

Classic Army is the way to go, my SAW Gunner has abused the shit out of my SAW, we took the mech box apart and the gears were in great shape. Put it this way, Operation Grayling 2014, Simon fired over 30 000 bb's through it with no stoppages!

i have a coveted daytonagun generic m249 shell that's super fun to use, still loud though, all part of the fun with none of the set backs of older loud guns, and in a small package for a SAW. CA is going to be your best bet for the money. theyre expensive, and heavy..sure $500 from the store is cheap but it quickly adds up, like owning a premium car or truck. If this is his first gun, you can get by with a box mag or hicap and some longevity upgrades in a normal AEG, unless youre going for the fluff and fun-aspect of using a SAW, get a normal rifle first, with a homemade servo driven hicap boxmag or storebought boxmag/c mag. i dont want to be a negative ninny, but ive seen lots of people buy into the sniper or saw position and quickly sell out for something more average. :banghead: Last edited by silent_lemon; December 15th, 2015 at 01:02.. |

Plus 1 for G&P M249. If you're not running box mags, then your gun is just heavier, but make sure you know what your local mag limits are. If you're gonna run M4 mags, get an M4. Buy high end box mags, not cheap crap.
Tune your gear box with strong gears, piston/nozzle properly and get the appropriate motor and batteries to handle prolonged automatic fire. A solid barrel and hop-up of course, but that's obvious for any gun. These guns can be terrors if used properly. I'd recommend getting the shorter version to save weight and awkwardness. Keep your ROF high, but not stupid and obnoxious, so like 25-ish rounds per second is good. With a reasonably high FPS (say 400 with 0.20g) and proper weighted rounds, you can cover your enemy in a non-stop barrage of spray, ricochets and general disruption. If that's not your goal, get an assault platform, it'll serve you better.
