Arrow Maintenance Question

Okay, so I think I'm slightly retarded, but I did look before asking this question but maybe I missed it while looking through so many pages.

I was looking to find information about airsoft gun maintenance, I have a Ares G36C. Mainly I'm looking for information on cleaning and how to unjam the gun. What tools should I have with my gun and where is the best place to get them from? I haven't had problems yet, but I want to do preventative maintenance (unlike my former work place :-P).

Any help would be welcome :-)

Simply, if it works don't fuck with it.

Wipe down the exterior after a game and decompress the spring by pulling the trigger in semi a few times or pulling the bolt back.

By the way, don't have the bolt back when you're firing, it disables the anti reversal and the gears will spin backwards. If they do you can shred your gears.

Once in a while take out the barrel and run a cleaning cloth through it. I like to take apart my hop up unit and spray a bit of silicone oil down it then wipe it dry (don't do this while the bucking is on or you'll have a deformed/swollen bucking). A trick I use is to run bits of coffee filters because they don't leave behind fibres like bounty cloths or the like will (or the chamois like gun cleaning kits have minus the gun cleaning oil cause that shit will ruin your airsoft).

Also, there's a product on the market literally called "Gun Oil" and there's 5 or 6 different formulations.... Yeah don't use that for your airsoft gun, that's for other things....

I should have been more specific. You will shred your gears if the gears are spinning back while you're pulling the trigger (spring is trying to decompress and spin the gears backwards to get back to "resting position" and because your Anti Reversal is disabled it will allow the backwards spinning, while you're trying to pull the trigger to make the gears spin forwards).

Also, don't try taking it apart and doing maintenance or anything like that until you have 2 guns so that at least if you mess up you have a spare gun so you can make it out to games while your other gun is in your workshop. If you have mechanical aptitude then watch some youtube videos and go for it but if not then get someone to show you how to take it apart and do maintenance (regreasing, replacing parts, etc.). Spring changes are fine since you've got the quick spring change thing.
