vsr-10 slam fire
hi,
i own a vsr-10 clone of the TM vsr-10 by tsd tactical. I bought the gun on buy airsoft.ca. About two weeks after i had got this gun i noticed that it had started to double feed and jam. On one day though, i was taking it outside to shoot some cans and when i pulled the bolt back everything was fine but i was ready to push it in when it jumped and slam fired. I have had this problem for quite some time. But a couple of days ago i decided to do something about it. now keep in mind this is a clone, im not that experienced but i took it apart and found that the piston thingy or the catcher inside the bolt was worn down(plastic), the metal part on the trigger still looks in working condition, but im not sure if that was also the problem. Yesterday i online i ordered a reinforced version of the plastic catcher thing. Can anyone tell me if this is the right thing to do. Everything else in the gun is stock, but this new metal part is from some american site and i was careful to not buy a PDI one (dont even know what that is), but i had a feeling it was the right decision. i just want to know if getting this new reinforced part will stop the slam firing and wil also prevent it from happening again. responses appreciated, thanks |

Ur trigger sears or piston is worn. Pretty common problem with clone vsr10s. Even the stock tm vsr will have this problem after a while. Simple answer is that the fix is to buy a zero trigger with the piston and cylinder set and u will never ever have this problem again provided ur not using too high powered a spring.

Well, the problem is probably the sears dude, not the piston. Youtube a disassembly guide for a VSR and CHECK the parts that are worn, don't ever assume.
If you don't have money, you shouldn't have baught a sniper rifle, especially a clone. Its going to be a money sink from hell. Upgrading quality guns is expensive in its own right as well. |

ok, well i might have the money, but only for one other thing. What should it be? if it requires more than one other thing to fix it, then i am probably gonna give up.

most likely the piston, it's plastic, the sears are metal.... they'll wear eventually but the piston will wear first.
it's exactly what was wrong with the vsr 10 i used to have |

Again I'll just say that if it is the piston then buying a new one gives the gun fresh meat an it'll chew out the new piston etc. If piston Is reinforced then it'll take longer but with alot of use it'll most likely go out on ya again

This is true. Only option for real solid, long term reliability is the zero trigger and piston designed for it. all other options cost less initially but cost more in time.

Lol welcome to the world of Airsoft snipers bud. Even a tm one will have this problem. All snipers are pretty much only as good or worse than a stock aeg when u buy them brand new and require a significant amount of time an money to be viable as a sniper style weapon. Unfortunate but that's how it goes I'm afraid

yeh, i think im gonna start moving into AEG's with long range abilities and ill just snipe with those. iguess i just fell for the joke, it just feels so much better to have a long sleek bolt action rifle to work with, but screw that if its just gonna go wrong over and over again. thanks for the assistance
