KWA M93R NS2 not cycling (among other things)

GTA Gun doc needed ..stat!

Recently took delivery of a shiny new KWA M93R. My excitement quickly waned after noticing the slide would not cycle when test firing. After almost every shot I had to click on the release to bring it back forward. This is both in single shot and 3 shot modes. Sometimes you can get almost a full mag out of it but it fails to cycle at least a few times.

It appeared well lubed but I disassembled it, cleaned it thoroughly and added a bit more silicon oil. Didnt help.

Then I noticed a couple other issues...

Mag releases some gas or all the gas when you insert it
Mag won't release every time... requires some finessing to get if free
Sometimes won't fire in single shot mode (pulling the trigger does nothing).

I am using propane with the AI adapter and Bastards (of course) for testing.

My inquiry with the Canadian reseller regarding warranty went unanswered. I then contacted KWA directly who advised me of the folllowing:

Frank,
Sometimes the return spring needs a little messing with in order to not prematurely catch. You can put a little extra pressure on the slide release spring to help alleviate this issue. Also the gas block chamber screw will sometimes back out a bit which catches on the frame, so check for that as well. Someone on our forum had this same issue and posted a fix for it at http://www.kwausa.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2397 . You also have the option of sending the gun in for repair if you would like. Repair fees are $35 for labor and small parts plus $10 to ship back to you.

Let me know how you would like to proceed.

Jim

Kudos to KWA for their very prompt attention to the matter.

So I am wondering ... do these suggestions make sense based on the issues I described? Is it worth attempting (check that... paying someone) to do what the guy did in the linked post? Anyone else experience this? Did I get a lemon?

Thanks in advance!

I would say return it to the retailer, but you already opened it and screwed around inside.
You paid for a brand new working gun and you didn't get one.

That fix worked for me as well. Thanks!

(I did contact the retailer first... my plea for help went unanswered)
