eBay Advice Needed

So I ordered 2 batteries from an eBay store a few weeks ago. On the 5th they send me an email saying my item has been shipped and give me a tracking number.

Tonight, I get an email saying that my item was NOT shipped, and are on back order until the end of the month. "Would I like to wait or get a refund?"

To me, personally, (and maybe I'm being a dick), neither option is acceptable. Why tell me they are shipped AND include a tracking number, only to recant almost two weeks later. That dog won't hunt.

What would you do?

I would just wait. If it takes too long from that point then I would go for a refund.

Well, they're saying that they won't even get them in stock until the end of the month, then ship them then. So figure another 3 weeks minimum before I get my batteries.

Punching them in the balls sounds interesting...

Get a refund and buy them somewhere else. Or if you still want to buy from them, get a refund and then buy them again when they come back instock. Doesn't cost you anything and you having your money back for that time is worth it.

Tell them how unsatisfied you are with what they did. Ask for discount or if they have another item on ebay you need ask for discount on that or free if it is a cheap item.

Can you still leave negative feedback?

Oh yeah, I haven't left any feedback yet. I am reluctant to leave negative unless they don't make the situation right. And the asshole in me doesn't find a refund "enough".

How could they tell you it's been shipped and give you a tracking number if they haven't got it in stock? Sounds fishy to me. I'd cut 'em loose.

They've already proven they're unreliable; get your money out while you can, lest that opportunity disappear as well. :S
