Well, I can't speak for others but next time include me in the circulation for vendor representation and at least ask me regarding media coverage and I am less likely to stay away. Simple as that. For others, you'd have to solicit their opinions directly and I don't represent anyone in this opinion other than myself.

Future events and Consultation with the "community"
Any future events will only be promoted within the Community via these boards...
The promotion of GMAC 2006 was within the game threads only.. Right up to the day before, consequently quite a number of people who don't read those threads missed the event. I can't see any need or benefit to go public with promotion of this event in the future.. it is designed for the community at large, and the friends that we all have who may be interested. Uniterested gawkers won't bring any benefit to the venders or the teams that want to participate. Anyone ... and I mean anyone is welcome to contribute to future renditions of this event.. I simply don't believe in excluding people or groups regardless of past, present or future "issues" I am willing to listen to anyone's input and incorporate or disregard it as I see fit. Anyone willing to step up and help foot the bill for the event and take the risk will of course get more of my attention. With the time and money I spent on getting even this small event off the ground just a little, I could have purchased a number of really nice guns...for myself. I have enough guns... but this community does not have enough events of this type, so in my opinion it was a better use for my resources. I appreciate everyone's feedback, In particular I am glad to see that at least some members of the groups that chose not to support the event are willing to take another look. I can't say that we can come to a meeting of the minds... but I am willing to try. And I agree that face to face meetings are the way to do it.

maybe a comittee is the way
Maybe a GMAC organizational comittee is the way to go...
Then I would not have to do everything... anyone want to volunteer? need a chairperson, Facilities, Scheduling, Marketing, Sponsorship Who wants to have a hand in the next one?

I think the location works very well.
The sooner a date is picked the more preperation and plans can be made.

I'd like to see more players bring out different pieces of gear to taste...I mean check out and see. You can talk about gear but nothing beats the value of actually donning a piece of gear and figuring out if it's right for you. Think about it - bomb up, then actually test it out in a live fire range. Cha-Ching! I'm sold. And I don't have to be impulsive either. Brian - i'd like to help out with contributions to something like that for the next one, with the assistance of others. I'd also like to help with the MilSim scenario building input as well - I didn't see that this one unfortunately. As well - put the invitation out to the out of city/province teams - I spoke to some of them about the event and they were dissapointed that they didn't make it down. Hopefully the tables in the center can be used for venders or teams next time. They kinda just sat there.
Prizes should be anounced early to get more guys into the competition (this comes down to us venders as well, donating them early) Take payment from us venders early for confirmation and to use to pay for stuff you need, like a work party the night before Consider contacting other companies for sponsorship and prizes, Subway, McDonalds, Timmies, music stores, etc. As you suggested, invite the local Armouries for recruiting. Depending on feedback for the spring, consider a two day event. Would be great to hear back from those who attended what was expected of the venders and how we measured up to that.
