Hi guys!

I just got my WE SCAR GBBR.

I plan on building an CNC aluminum hinge plate.

Do you guys know if there are some already available?

If no, is there anybody who would like to join me and get a plate? The more we are, the less it will cost us!

Let me know

Depending on the cost, I would be interested. Sub $50 would be ideal, but I would be open to any reasonable price.

Price depending, I would be interested. Any rough estimate?

Most of these parts are hard to find outside of Canada, yet alone inside Canada. Scout the USA forums for custom work or WE parts dealers. Airsoftbuddy or armedforces.hk.com might have it.

There's the odd one kicking around from guys who have upgraded theirs before the original one wore out or broke...but you're best off ordering a replacement one from Todd at The War Store. E-mail him before hand to ensure there is one in stock...then it's just a paypal payment and mailing envelope away. It does go through customs as international mail...but it shouldn't take long.

The one his guy makes is CNC tool steel.

FYI.

I will be testing an aluminum hinge plate shortly. Working on getting the steel valve strikers and triggers out right now. Hinge plate is ready to be tested shortly, as well as a light weight bolt carrier for SCAR AWSS.

I had originally intended on also doing part 66, but I thought the market was already flooded. If the need is there I can look at this one again.

And yes, I'm in Canada.

Good because I've asked a CNC shop and showed him the hinge and he told me it would not be under 150$.

So it is out for me.

I'll try and find a way to connect the stell plate (the one that the hinge plate attach to) with the bloc that hold the recoil spring.

Either by drilling and inserting 2 dowell pins or just by welding them together.

I'll let you know how it turns out!

Why would you want to connect the two?

Especially if you will end up replacing the hinge plate with a metal one anyways?

To reduce the force of impact on the hinge plate you can also adhere a strip of 3M 1/8" thick padded tape. That will absorb a decent amount of force. I was thinking of including a strip with the hinge plates I'm producing incase people wish to dampen the force a tad.

Ultimately, a lightweight bolt carrier and lighter recoil spring would be ideal, but you may loose a few rounds per second by changing to a lighter spring.

With the enhancements I've made in an adjustable trigger, an aluminum hinge plate, lightweight bolt carrier, steel valve striker, and maybe a steel hammer/sear combo, I should be able to release a kit that increases rate of fire as well as improves overall reliability.

But I can only afford one part at a time until I sell out the products I'm manufacturing now.

I'm always open to other suggestions if any of you have any wild and crazy ideas to try.

well, I decided not to go with the metal hinge since it would cost me too must $$$.

By linking the rear plate to the spring bloc, there would be no more force to the hinge plate.

Might be cheaper for me to do so.

But then again, it would depend on how much you will change for the metal hinge plate.
