But then at the same time if some random pissy WO comes up to you and asks to see a chit, and you tell him "Well my boss let's me wear them" then I guess thing's aren't going to go to well for you.

Regarding new 'vests' for us, last I heard from the grapevine was that we were going to go back to a webbing based system. Something along the line's of the old style webbing, but with a fuck-tonne of new pouches so you can mix and match depending on what you're load out requires.

But seeing as how this entire organisation run's on rumors, well...take that as you see fit.
Oh man are you serious? Going back to webbing would suck hard... Even if its molle. I still don't know why we don't have a all in one like a OTV but better or like a CIRAS.

Wearing armor sucks. That's it, that's all. I don't want to wear it if I don't have to.

OTV's and CIRAS are all good for FIBUA stuff but we aren't always going to be running armor. Reintroducing an H-harness rig is a good thing. Aside from the ghey-ass attachment system and the lack of padding on the belt, the 82 pattern webbing was aight.

These are words of wisdom.

Welp, the webbing hasn't choked me yet, or stabbed me in the face with my own bayonet so I guess that's +2 for it.

Yeah. I always have a good chuckle whenever some OUTCAN gear collector shells out crazy money for the tac vest.

Oh I know the proper way to mount it (on your side) but when you have staff that want you do it 'by the book', you can't really argue with them. I'll tough it out for a few weeks, rather then have the staff make things hard for me because I don't agree with them.

What does the whistle look like that supposedly goes in the pouch on the opposite side of the maglite pouch.

I guess so. In the Tacvest pamphlet, there's a pouch ID'd for whistle storage, but it's long and slender. I tried doing a search for it, but came up empty.

I assumed it was one of those micro fox forties...

In the end, when I had mine, I used it to store a mini sharpie.

Thanks man. The M249 SUCKS THOUGH. It's an Echo 1. The box mag went to hell. And the mag (a thermold I usually run cause it works better than others) is always miss feeding. Of course it has too much "wiggle" room and I found myself having to push the mag in as I fired.

Odd Fact: You can't tell but my beard is fucking RED/ORANGE in another pic I took from that day. It's the lighting
