Ok I have noticed that when the hopup is OUT of the gun, its very easy to turn and move, yet when IN the gun it's very hard to turn.
The gun was shooting for an entire mag (although I had BB drops everytime I started firing in full auto, and my hopup was either on way too high or way too low) Now the gun stopped shooting again! There are NO BB's stuck in the barrel so I think this has to be a damn G&P mag problem mixed with whatever else is causing BBs to jam and DROP! Needs a new hopup rubber maybe? |

Can someone explain how to properly install a barrel INTO the hopup? I think I might have found the problem but Im not sure....
I also need to know how to take out and install a hopup rubber... Last edited by Drache; August 10th, 2008 at 14:50.. |

Unscrew the 'C' clamp on the hopup, clamp it on the barrel, slide the barrel inside and screw back the 'C' clamp on the hopup.

Well hopefully if he'll still accept his offer, I'm shipping the gun off to someone who can hopefully fix it! The local gun doc wont be accepting guns until September and I really dont want to wait that long. I haven't even gotten a chance to game this damn thing let alone even sight the scope in with it! Drache, is that picture of the flash hider serious? That should tell you that the BB's are getting jammed between the inner barrel and flash hider. I've never seen anything like that before.
If they are impacting the flash hider upon exiting the barrel, you should be getting damage to the BB as well as fliers going itno the ground, or sharply in other directions.

I saw the exact same thing with Chef/Jackal's G36C (but with a G36K front end installed) a couple years ago, BBs all jammed up in the outer barrel. Took a bunch of good whacks with a long screwdriver and a hammer to get them out. When he installed the longer outer barrel, he didn't bother to install a longer inner barrel. Inner barrel replacement solved the problem on his gun, I've no idea what gun YOU have though.

The gun was working FINE before I bought it so it must be an issue that developed since then. But like I said, its getting shipped off tomorrow morning so someone else can look at it! Thanks to everyone for the help though! |

drache sent it to me, received it this morning and I just finished fixing it.
Seems like the stock G&P hop up unit was made in the dumpster, unstable, flimsy gears, and it had a larger than average boresize for the barrel to fit inside. This caused movement inside the hop up unit and there was unwanted amount of inner barrel movement, the C clip also didnt help, it actually didnt even hold the barrel in place. It was also missing the spring that contacts the body to the hop up unit. its firing awesome now, put some new parts in. |
