Yeah the Unicorn is NOT friendly to mags. A bit of sandpaper or a file on the edges of the mag well might help ease the pain but be careful not to remove much material. You just want the edges beveled.

I have to say the CYMA is earning a spot very close to my heart. Today I had the most amazing game of my life, bar none. I belly crawled through swamps, ran through ankle deep water, and dove into thick deadfall, and the CYMA didn't let me down one bit. Got some amazing kills (including a solo tower assault that left me 4-0) and the range on this thing is incredible.

Do what I did and get both guns!

Hmm, you have any feeding problems with your CYMA? I do, but they're ANCIENT mags- the G&Ps feed perfectly, so do other ones and the hicap.

So far I've only really used my Echo1 hicap in it which feeds flawlessly. I expect few problems with other brands.

The real question between two AK74U's are that of CYMA vs Kalash (DBOYS).

I have read multiple reviews and a couple say Kalash while another bunch say CYMA.

Can anyone here comment on these two 74U's at to which one would be better and why?

Great gun by the way, love and always will love the 74u.

any more mods done to the gun that have made it better other then just nozzle, spring guide and replace wires and connectors?

ok i just came back to this thread to look at the 74u's again and two questions popped into my mind.
what the hell are all those gaps and cuts in the lower handguard? are they authentic ak74u handguards from the real gun?
and what is that nipple bubble thing on the bottom of the unicorns receiver?

ok well 3 questions if you wanna get technical

The cuts in the handguard are for the retention spring that impinges on the front of the receiver/trunnion. They're not from the real gun I would imagine, but they are real wood and patterned correctly. The "nipple" on the bottom of the receiver is a rivet.

If you're using 2/3A cells I imagine you could stuff a 12V in there no problem, though I'd question why you'd want to. If anything I can see someone making a longer battery out of 4/5A or A cells to achieve higher capacity but for the extra expense of those cells, you're probably better off buying two Elite 1500s in whatever voltage you require and stuff the second into your gear. I'd recommend a 9.6V battery for these guns as the 8.4V may leave some of you wanting in the ROF department, even with a rewire and Deans connectors. Go to a lighter spring though, and you should stick with the 8.4V if you want a realistic ROF.

i think its ebaybanned that has wood handguards from the real ak's if i read their descriptions correctly.

i thought those two 74u's were awesome til i saw the pic of amos's kraken ak with the caw handguard and short barrel. that thing beats out both of those in looks i think.
