First of of, it's much more expensive than an M4 in airsoft, and it's not made by CA, G&P or TM which are the mainstream companies.
Secondly, it cost TWICE as much as an M4 in real life! And yes, it is better than the M4 in every way, but did you actually do any research to find out how MUCH better it is? It's not a significant improvement enough to jusitify spending millions of dollars to buy all new weapons and retrain everyone on it. The US military, and likely the CF forces, aren't going to buy new weapons until theres a new technology out, or someone convinces them to change calibre. And even then they're not going to buy a German gun, Americans like using home-made weapons. |

Tavor what?
The M4 is a comfortable gun. Isn't that reason enough? |

Thundercactus: again I say that real-life reasons are moot point. They don't affect us since we are merely role-playing what kind of wish kit we'd like to have. As for mainstream AS manufacturers not making it, well what about buying metal bodies for our existing M4s - like the Hurricane body? Is there a compelling reason why MOST people aren't doing it?
I just suppose that most people would like to role-playing having the best equipment out there. I get it that the M4 looks better than an HK416, but is it possible to just use an HK416 body - or are there some dimensional differences to prevent a retrofit of a 416 body with everything else M4?

most people prefer to play as the standard soldier cause the jtf2 delta seal ranger sas guys all look like noobs who started in the sport and are trying their hardest to look '1337' therefore the m4/m16 standard soldier weapon is popular... as well as the only 416s there are, are either JG (good china company which few still don't trust) or vfc (fricken expensive)

I too am a huge fan of the HK 416, and also considered converting one of my 2 M4's into a 416, however I was also thinking why go through all the hassle, just a get an actual 416. But for someone who want to custom build one out of spare parts, I don't see why the top reciver of a 416 would'nt be compatible w/ an M4 lower. I think it's deffinately doable. But where one would be able to get a 416 metal body (by itself) much less an upper reciever is beyond me.
As to why i love the M4? I love it's costomizability, smae reason why I have a CRX, it's cheap, parts are easy to come by, almost limitless customizability. And While I have a 240 as well which is arguably a better platform, it also took me alot more time to save up the $$ to get.

fair enough. Are the dimensions of HK416 metal bodies the same as M4?

As far as i know the only difference between them are the higher flat-top rail that lines up with the RIS handguard. Other that they should line up.

I can see white HK marks on the left side of the 416 upper.
