The age of 18 is usually what is recommended as that is the age that a person is legally considered an adult and can be legally held responsible for their actions, as for if you can play before that you will have to consult with the fields and the groups in your area as to what age is allowed. All the information you required has been presented to you, I suggest you read this websites FAQ if you have any other questions.

It's an Ontario law with regards to selling air guns. No other province has a law in the books like this one. However, the thread started by Illusion asking whether or not 18 is legal age to own airsoft has a lot of good info in it. In that thread, Greylocks points out all the particular federal laws regarding ownership of such items, and the reasoning that 18 is the required age for ownership. The whole subject is an ambiguous grey area mess, but the reasons he gives are about as good as it gets.

This is good because my dad was in talks about airsoft with the firearms teacher at the police academy he teaches at and he got my dad all worried that i was going to get charged with posession of a prohibited weapon.
That would totally suck as im still a young guy and enjoy crossing borders easily. |

There is alot of misinformation in this thread.
I guess I should re-read the FAQs on this site and see if the proper information is not available. There seems to be an awful lot of confusion about this subject. If you don't know with ONE HUNDRED PERCENT CERTAINTY what you are talking about, you should really wait for someone else to come in and post on the subject. Perhaps a refresher of the laws and regulations governing airsoft is in order, as the legal landscape (as far as enforcement goes) has changed in the last 2 years. |

This topic has been beaten to death in the past few weeks. For all the answers to your questions regarding legalities of airsoft, not only in Ontario, but in all other provinces, I suggest you go to the General Forum and look up the thread "Is it Illegal for a Minor to POSSESS an Airsoft Gun in Canada?"
This thread WILL answer all your questions regarding this topic so it does not have to be beaten to death yet again.
