yes, the new version comes with a metal buttplate.

that reading you have is very inconsistent... 356FPS ~406FPS? 50FPS devience... something's wrong =\

yeah i know, don't know if is anything wrong with the chrono, it's a madbull chrono bought recently.

Did you get consistent 400 FPS readings?
Which chrono do you have?

My kraken had something like 25fps variations and another kraken I held had 30fps....

hope ure happy SKLADFIN, the newest version really kick ass.

I think I just got even newer versions, since I jsut got a Kraken that came with metal bushings, metal butplate, nice stiff selector and the gearbox is very very very well trimmed. its pretty sweet.

One weak part about the kraken that alot of people will experience.
The Potmetal stock trunnion. The metal is so weak that I snapped mine with my bare hands, I seen plastic stronger than that.

[QUOTE=Lotech;609955]I have now painted the clear plastic body and mag.

If i may ask, what kind of paint did you use, and how did you apply it? i'm not much for clear guns, and it seems like i could just get an ICS M4 A1, and paint the silly clear part black, but i wouldn't mind knowing what i was doing before i did it.

I just used regular rustoleum and krylon paints for when I painted my buddies krakens, Theres not really much to it other than applying the paint proplerly. Read the directions on the can for suggested distance on spraying. That, and work in adding thin, multiple layers. be patient and you'll be happy with your results.

(A kraken I painted for a freind)

Anyway, For my question :

I've been hearing the latest Krakens have a lot of inconsistancies with parts and are growing less compatable with TM internals, is this true? I'm looking to buy another kraken as a frankengun to experiment with (Learn how to upgrade and such))

I live in Kitchener, Ontario and was wondering if anyone knew a good local place to pick up a kraken (or even a place to play)? And if I wanted to paint my kraken, what legalities do I have to consider

Nice review on this gun.

I'm still trying to get AV'ed, but was searching and found the Kraken AK47 at Bass Pro Shop for $120 before taxes.. looks like a good deal.

Would you guys recommend something like this as my first main gun?
I'd probably be getting something like a TM/KSC G17/19 as a side arm..

Also, if there's any age verifier's that can meet in the North York/Woodbridge/Maple/Brampton area that I can meet up with sooner than later.. please feel free to contact me via PM.

Drop the sidearm and invest in buying mags, parts, etc for your AK. Unless you own all of the money trees in the world.

I've been laidoff from the Magna money tree.. so I'll take that advice into consideration.
Thanks.
