Yeah, I'm joking. They spend more on border control alone than all of Canada spends on everything.

BTW, this is not a new thing from the U.S. side. Long before I bought my AR in 2006, I was told about this by several retailers when I inquired about getting new do-dads for it. This was also when you couldn't find a new AR in Canada to save your life. Things have smoothed out since then on the actual gun supply, but the accessories are still fudged-up.
