my friend has a stock MP7, it shoots about 20 feet right now if it feeds at all lol
im sure they did a few revisions, but i think a P90 would be the best compact backup weapon. Light, ergonomic, compact, nothing hanging off the gun to get snagged or caught in your ghillie suit (MAJOR BONUS) anything else, M4, AK, TMP, UMP, all have mags or rails or cocking handles sticking out the get entwined in your ghillie |

The gun you're planning to build would be suffiecent but I would recommend a longer barrel. Otherwise...good choice. I play sniper for my team and my primary is a Tanaka M700 AICS and my secondary is a TM M4A1 w/M203 (which is at the moment torn apart for upgrades and painting). Since my Ghillie interfere's of having a sidearm...I usually don't carry one.

And after about $100-200 in parts to get it reliable as a stock TM M4................. metal body is nice, but having low quality gears, piston, motor, etc. in it really doesn't help deciding, does it?

Ok, then i'll look at the TM M4 then
I though CA made better guns... Am i making a mistake with the CA M24? TM VSR-10 G-Spec would be better? O_o |

My brother-in-law had one and had no problems. It was a reliable sniper. He eventually sold it as he is more the go and shoot em up kinda guy than sitting on your stomach waiting for the prey to come to you.

P90. So small you can cram it up your ass. Very Tacti-Cool.

M4 and Beretta M9 is what I roll out with as a sniping spotter. Looking to get an m203 to put on that M4 to make myself a tincy bit more rounded.

CA M24 is a rugged rifle, accepts APS2 parts, uses an AEG barrel and hop up rubber, and has a bullet proof trigger assembly design which is fully adjustable. Also is very quiet, due largely to the pot metal used for the receiver and outer barrel, as well as the solid composite stock. Downside is that screws will strip out the pot metal threads if used too much or overtightened. Steel threaded inserts (Heli-Coils) and new screws fix that problem for good. Aside from that I've zero complaints about the gun. |

Moongoose, thanks alot. That was very informative! Just another quick question; is it illegal to import an M203? Thanks

The real deal has been restricted recently (or was it prohibited...?), so I don't think so. There was a sticky somewhere with the announcement.

I don't know about CA M4's, I have a CA G36 and other than some wiring issues the gun is solid. I haven't really heard anything bad about the newer CA guns.

I've been working on Jackel's CA SCAR since he got it, after one game the bevel gear shredded and took out the piston, I replaced the gears and piston, another game goes by and his motor gear unmeshes and ground itself down on the new bevel gear and the piston suffers again. So I installed his new parts last night, works great, fast & quiet as it always did in my hands. He just has bad luck with guns, but CA internals leave a lot to be desired.
