You could also shoot in your basement I suppose. A little work and you can make your own shooting range haha. Just make sure you make a BB trap so you don't have BBs all over your basement.

The noise that people hear in your garage is just a nailgun right? Don't you have an interest in hobby carpentry.

Also you didn't pay back your parents for the airgun, you paid them back for an unrelated loan they gave you.

Remember out of sight, out of mind. I'm not condoning that you use the gun at all within city limits, you're only going to use it at a summer cottage or family friend's farm under parental supervision of course. But I do support you practicing your carpentry hobby in your windowless basement and/or windowless garage under the supervision of your parents. Where no passers by could see you or be hurt by a stray flying nail that might come out of your "nailgun" by accident right.

Don't forget safety glasses, sometimes those nails come back at you! Theres some good 'nail' target trap designs on the forums.

As a matter of fact our house is a backsplit, so we have a huge crawlspace. I use to do target practice with my springers down there lol. Plus my pop happens to be a home renovator, and if a "nail gun" is louder than its air compresser, I'll eat my hat! But hell, at least I can write my name on the wall with nails

I have a fairly large basement and shoot down there. I have different rooms and set up sticky targets around, had some fun nights with those :P

So about this whole painting thing. I think what I am going to do is ask my friend who is a fraud detective for York Regional Police. After all, he is a cop, so he would be best to ask. I just want to do the right thing is all. Can anybody think of what I should say so it doesn't come off like I wanna go rob someone? Again I just wanna do right.

Just because you're a police officer or detective doesn't mean that you know every single law in the books. Also if he's smart he'll never say anything on the record or put anything in writing (it could cost him his job even if he tells you the right info).

The clear thing is only to placate CBSA. After that it becomes the RCMP's responsibility. In fact, if you rob a store with a clear gun the crown will treat it as if it were a real firearm and recommend charges accordingly. It doesn't matter if it's pink, or clear, or black or whatever.

For now if you don't want trouble just keep it clear, hell you're not going to use it until you're 18 anyways right? You're only using your "pneumatic power tools" in your basement under parental supervision.

Yes that's true.
Well if the old lady living across the street can hear my nail gun in our concrete surrounded crawlspace, then fuck it lmao

17? Yeah, you're a kid.

But enjoy the ride, it should be the best time of your life. No job, no responsibilities, no money worries. Only school and study.
