I'm under the impression that the latest WE's are 4th edition? Whats the differences between the third/fourth edition WE's?

Part #117 the plastic bb chamber seems to be my issue with Ra tech tight bore inner barrel .

I removed part #117 and put everything else back together and the m4 will now shoot and the bb's are no longer being jammed.

As I predicted I have lost all the fps due to gas escaping or the bb's are catching the lip of the inner barrel I'm not sure which.

Reading what Stealthee posted I assumed that he meant to lube part #117 which I have tried with no success, I also tried adding a tiny bit of silicone oil to it and still is jamming the bb's.

I have a replacement part #117 in the mail and hopefully it will solve this issue. I will update my findings but if it dose not work can anyone advise me on the best process to trim the inner chamber with out destroying it.

The inner chamber will be tough for sure the great news is that you have a spare just in case something goes wrong I'm thinking a really tiny file? Or if your ever so careful a small dremel bit on the slowest speed possible with a fine sanding head and sand for 1-2 second increments until the bb goes through properly? It's an idea..

Using a dremel tool fitted with a grinding stone..that will remove just enough material to fix your problem.

Just use the ball shaped stone with a simple in/out motion.

For lack of my replacement parts arriving I decided to play around with part# 117 with some success.

Going back to what stealthy had posted up about lubing part #117 I gave it another shot.

I tried greasing it good making sure to have no contact with the hopup and it successfully shot about 5-8 bb's before jamming again (bb's would not shoot at all previously)

re-lubed #part 117 and again it would fire but would jam again after a few shots, I cant imagine taking apart the entire barrel to lube it up for only 5-8 shots so there must be more to this.

I noticed it looked like part #117 was now being pulled back into the brass tube on the bottom (opposite the side of the hopup) which I now believe that could be causing the new jam.

I spoke with frank from velocity arms and one of his gun docs who were both very helpful, what they suggested is trimming the mushroom on the tip of the nozzle in small degrees until I get the perfect fit. This seems like a better idea than taking it off #117
heres a picture of what I mean (highlighted in red) I'm still somewhat new to we and do not always have the proper technical terms.

Airsoft buddy sometimes does have items in stock that's not on listed on their website. Shoot them an email.

I have a 416 which I use all the time and instead of always adjusting the fps for indoor or outdoor use, I decided to buy a new bolt.
An interesting thing has happened. I installed a NPAS on the new bolt, adjusted it to around 300 fps. When I was test firing the gun it started to burst fire and jam on me, however, once I switched in the old bolt everything was back to normal. Anyone have an idea on what may cause this?
One of my theories is that I need to work in the new bolt of wear down the o-rings a little bit.

300 FPS is a little low, you might not be allowing enough gas to go through. Try opening it up a bit to around 330 or 340 and see if that resolves the problem.

I upped the fps to around 360. There is less jamming, however, burst fire still occurs and only in the new bolt.

I am trying to install a new lower on my M4, I can't seem to remove the buffer retaining pin. Is a special tool required for this?

the pin itself could be a bit to long you may need a flat head thats notched so that you can reach the slots to unscrew it.. i just stuck a flat head into one of the slots andslowly turned it that way but thats just me

I believe its just a flat head screw driver you just have to push down the pin?

on another note no one still has found a solution for the inner tight bore?

The pin does not seem to depress low enough for a screw driver to fit in the slots.

Edit: Got it. That ws a pain in the ass.

have you had any luck with this? im experiencing the same problem, dont
want to trim or cut or drill or file anything without knowing it'll work right. i
think thought that it could be part #117 being pinched ever so slightly into a
tighter barrel causing more resistance for the bb to pass through like the
other guys are saying, a little file from the inside might be just what it
needs, but RA should have been all over this from the start. they leave a lot
of open ends in their products for people to figure out on their own, and ive
emailed them plenty of times. when ever its about something involving help
with their products they never email back. when its about ordering
something its less than 24 hrs... lame. if anyone has tried the grind of the
rubber/plastic bb holder (Part #117) and its successful, could you post it or
let us know? my beautiful hk416 is just sitting in a tech shop missing daddy.
