Maybe post a picture of your battery and/or trying to fit the battery in the space with the lower handguard attached? Might not help but can't hurt to try.

and! YouTube- AirSplat ON DEMAND: ICS SIG 551 and 552 Airsoft Gun Review Video Episode 2 at about 4:40... it seems you need a split 11.1V Lipo? this whole experience has been screwy! haha... wow... |

I'll take some more photos today showing how it doesn't fit. The most frustrating part is that I only need a teeny bit of more space to get the handguard closed.

This is a very painful thread to read. Kind of like driving by a horrible car crash with bodies lying about. You don't want to look, but you can't help yourself.
All I can say is, keep trying there mate, cause an 8.4 mini will fit. I hope you are better with girls.

Everything I read regarding this (I am now an unofficial expert on this subject) is that you need a special battery to fit in this fore grip. An 11.1V split Li-Po seems to be the consensus...

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w...y/CIMG2989.jpg As you can see, the inner barrel prevents the battery from fitting in. Notice how I can't fit the upper handguard back into the gun in any way no matter how I position the battery. And yes, the upper handguard goes in first. |

i tried one today as my local site are ics stockists.
the only way a 8.4v mini will fit is by removing the short ris from the side of the handgaurd (including the plate inside). even with this its a tight fit . the ics was never designed to fit a mini battery, only lipo or split 8.4 custom. only jg/marui fit a 8.4v mini as standard

I see. My next try would be one of these babies.
http://www.uncompany.com/pageproduct...p?prodid=24204 But I hear you need a special charger for these things, and I've got a nice charger already. Who's the person to talk to about custom batteries around here? |

I sell Intellect split 8.4v 1500mAh batteries if you're interested.

I sent you a PM. I don't think those ones are going to work, though. Think I need a custom battery.
Edit: I could get one made at an RC store, right? Last edited by TaroBear; March 24th, 2010 at 14:33.. |

Well from the ICS instructions it looks like you're not meant to fit a NiMH/NiCD battery in there at all, just either a lipo inside or a battery box on the rail.
