Students have enough people exploiting them without help from the airsoft community :P

Painful laughter ensues...

Fact is, the PTW uses electronics. There are a lot of ways to have a pretend machine gun, each having their own advantages... and disadvantages. We could show them all day. At the end of that day, we'll all make a choice whats right/fun/best for ourselves. No wrong answer!

But, its not the reason people are selling them. In fact, I'd finally venture we see so many PTWs for sale now because frankly, there are so many more PTWs now than there has been previously. GBBRs and AEGs sell like mad too. Its a good time to be an airsofter.

I still have the pics.

It never failed due to moisture, in fact, it was working when I got it.

I won't mention who owned this one, to save him/her the embarassment:

OK I see the problem in the first pic, but what's so bad about the other 2?

Doesn't the wire look a little suspicious?

Look closely. Follow the orange wire.

Ok, that looks like CP opened it and tried to ruin it so nobody would be able to use it thinking it was real.

I would love to see what Real Sword would do if they were to produce an AR-style AEG.

Me too, though I think they are very keyed in on specifically Chinese weaponry and there are still a few gaps to fill in that column. I guess my point in bringing up the RS was to counterpoint the view of GBB being alone in its ability to negotiate adverse conditions. The more the electronics housing gets improved over time on PTWs, the better it will weather. That said, it isn't bad as it is, I gamed my PTW in falling wet snow and rain both with no ill effect.

FWIW, I have a Type 56-1 and an SVD incoming as we speak. RS's attention to detail, build and pricing are impressive. I do concur that the cast aluminum receiver of the PTW is no match for the forged steel, milled, blu'd receiver of the RS AKs but where the electronics in the PTW shine is in rendering trigger lag and pre-cocking obsolete. Even with the advances in motor and battery technology, this continues to be the main area where AEGs 'lag' behind all other delivery systems.

I don't really see it as "exploitation" I see it as "Market Correction" Placing the goods in the hands of people who can afford to give the guns a good home, with fresh batteries, clean gas.. and all the BBs they can eat.

No, the weight of the lower was too much for a flimsy paper envelope. It brust through again just from me handling the package.
