This mod can be easily done to "tactical" builds as well, especially the mag well mod.
Remember guys, the point is to smooth out the entrance... not enlarge the entire magwell. Don't go too deep or it could mess things up. |

Just a quick addition on a new part I just received that will be going on this gun.
Slide Stop: This slide stop is custom CNC machined by the factory from 303 Stainless Steel. Fit and finish is 100% bang on, and unlike Nova, requires ZERO modifications to fit. It is a direct drop-in. Any users of the Nova slide stops know they do require modification to fit any pistol. Also, this is the only satin (matte) finish slide stop available on the market in this style. It's a common style used by SV and STI. |

have you tried that on your SV? Does the rod goes in deep enough so you can hand push it out on disassembly?

Yup! Fits perfectly!
I noticed the same thing as you... the Nova one required a tool to push out. Funny, the Shooters Design mid-frames allowed that slide stop to push out easily. Just the AS ones required something to poke it out. |

I think on mine, which I am using a stock slide catch, the SV frame is actually wider than the stock(or the other type of AS frame). I only have issue because I can't physically reach the "button" on the back side with my finger, I need to use a screwdriver or something pointy to poke it out.
I don't have problem with my Nova slide catch on my 1911 on removal, but it needs a tool to push the little plunger back before I can put it in... |

Regarding the AS SV Butler Stirrup Cut frame, this slide catch mounts up to the perfect level with it. Last edited by ILLusion; November 19th, 2008 at 21:10.. |

Hi, I was looking through some of your build threads and your gallery. You sir have some talent. There is not a piece there that I did not drool over.
I was wondering a few things: - What Mag well did you use one the Infinity Duo Tone build? - Do you have a parts list for the Infinity SHPD Compensated? (mostly interested in the long mid section and the compensator) Aside from this thread do you have any suggested reading a first time builder should look at? (planning a tactical build) |

Gah. I was hoping you guys would have forgot about this thread. I abandoned this project because I came across something better. LOL.
As for your questions, 1) The mag well used on the Infinity Duo Tone build was the one sold by Airsoft Surgeon. I can get more of those if you need, complete with your own custom markings on the base. That one said "STI", I may get another one produced with "SV" on it. 2) Here is an edited version of the write up I did when I sold that Infinity SHPD Compensated: Quote:
3) If you're looking for a more tactical build, hang on to your pants for a couple more weeks, I have something in production that'll knock your socks off. Here's a preview of a prototype I'm testing right now: |

Oops sorry, I guess I resurrected didn't I, my apologies.
I have a few more questions So I'll PM you rather than continuing to keep this one alive. Awesome thanks for the parts list. Wow that new build looks hot, can't wait. |

That's the build i want to go for. But instead of a tm 5.1 i'm thinking of going with the KJW 1911 tactical.

Hi Brian... I was wondering how much $ do you spent all-in-all for the build-up roughly..?

That depends completely on the pistol I'm building. Some are as low as $750, some can be as high as $3500.
(These are all CAD prices.) |

Brian!!
We need more.....! I am trying to learn the ropes as well on modding Hi-Capas, hope you will have time when things are less busy with you to update this here for us beginners! In particular, what would be the best thing to work on for beginners? Slide upgrades? Grip? Looking forward to your posts, Sensei! |
