So does that mean we cannot import Omega, CASV-EL, and A.R.M.S. handguards?...has anyone from Canada imported handguards? I thought they were acceptable to import...

Eotechs' also...man I already got caught with customs with that one, the US openned my package and bang, I got a letter yadee yaddee yadda, I just said that I did not know anything and so did the seller, and gave us a warning, basically, I could get fined and so does the seller, the reason is that you cannot import anything that the police or military uses....
now for the handguards, well I have no clue on those the only thing is now is that I ordered an A.R.M.S. SIR and maybe down the road if it gets through customs then I will also get a DD Omega "if I choose not to go with LaRue" from www.bravocompanyusa.com , depending if my A.R.M.S. SIR goes through...will see.... Last edited by leblanc74; December 17th, 2007 at 12:12.. |

You're perfectly able to import it into Canada, but US customs isn't letting it get exported from the states.

ARMS SIR is actually an issued item. It comes standard on many carbines for the U.S. military. If anything is guaranteed export restricted, it's the issued stuff. ARMS for sure will get nabbed.
The EoTech should have clued you in not to try it again.

you know pretty much more than I do in regards to this stuff, so the another question is how about the VLTOR's, LaRue's, or an Daniel Defense's handguards? Will US customs would let it go? I know that LaRue's site will not sell to Canada, but there are always people or supplier that offers it from time to time... And a better question is where could I find out in regards if the item is issued or not.... and if that particular item is importable to Canada or not in reguards to real steel? He's obviously had a problem Riley. And from Kimbo's deal with the CBSA/RCMP, you should know that you have been more than lucky to have no issues.
For a complete list of export restricted items, you'd have to contact the Americans for that. Try the State Department. But really that's irrelevant. If you want to risk it, order whatever you want. Or order it from in Canada. If you can't find what you want, forget about it and move on. You don't have many options here, the U.S. holds all the cards.

You need to get the classifieds "activated" after you register (instructions are in the section heading) otherwise they all say "private".
It took about a day for me. There is an Eotech up there now, $425 it think. |

425$ is the same price that Dave's Surplus has them and they are new....and speaking about Dave's he has an TM AK47 and a TM M14 and a KSC Glock 17 in his show case now...

As has been stated in this thread and so many others , it is a US export issue not a canadian import one. As long as the us retailer/seller has the proper Export permits you are fine. Have you even tried contacting canadian retailers about the DD rail though? you may find some one actually carries them.

I know a fellow who scored a sweet deal on an ARMS SIR from CGN for very cheap. You may not find new very often, but lightly used is fine too. My SIR has been through at least 2 other owners before me, and after a season of use, you couldn't tell about new or "slightly used" anyways. You won't go to prison. This is an American issue. But they may have you on a "watchlist" now for any future purchases. Word is they have a much more sophisticated border control system than we do. Imagine that!!
