Many are in the Forces, Police, Security and related fields. Others are registered Collectors of real firearms or Instructors. All like the sport for it's realism, and understand the drawbacks of that realism. That is why so many rules are in place. |

Ok, thanks. I'm going to talk to my dad and see if he'll take me to an arena. I also think that it'd be good for him to see the sport because he's not too sure about it right now.

That's the best way, getting your parents involved and informed. I wish more new folks would do the same instead of trying to find loopholes.
Smart move on your part. |

---allitle off topic.... but why can't I see it??
Back on topic now, holly flipping hell this kid is me from 3 years ago... trust me kid, i turned 18 just a few months ago and have been waiting since about your age to play airsoft for real... sooooo worth it... trust me, you should definantly take up the sport once old enough so fun, but please don't try and break the rules and lie and what not cause that'll make you eternally shunned by the airsoft community and that will just make it harder to game when your old enough edit: oh yeah and kid... you must be using some sort of magic here cause i've never seen greylocks so kind to a new underaged member Last edited by AngelusNex; October 24th, 2007 at 11:41.. |

If you cant see the flag under our names, ask the Mods. If you cant see the one under yours... ask your age-verifier?

Thanks a lot guys! I'm going to wait until I turn 18 (or 16 for some arenas) and during that time I can save for a gun.

And do you think it would be smart to but a gun, even if I can't play official airsoft yet, if only to shoot at a target in my basement?

personally i'd say, if your only going to use it for target shooting in your basement, get a clone, you don't need range or power, by a cheaper gun and save for something really good for when you can play... thats what i did.

Sure. I was planning to buy an MP5A4 (HG) from aasurplus.com
(http://aasurplus.ca/airsoft/product_...products_id=37 It got great reviews according to some google searches, and I think I'd have a lot of fun shotting in the basement. The only question is: Would I need to upgrade later or would this gun serve me well into the future? |

At 10 yrs old how do they get rifles? Must be Crappy Tire specials.
Airsoft is cheap compared to paintball just the start up is the first hump that you need to get over. Paintball Gun $150-2000 easy depends on what type your looking for Hopper $10 Clothing $150+ Mags None unless you have the fancy markers Webbing Yes they use webbing too at least the guys I know $200+ CO2/Compressed Air $20 And Masks are the same for both course also depends on how fancy you want to get. Ammo $45/500 rds now you can see where you save money paint costs are rediculous Airsoft Rifle $400-2000 easy Clothing $150+ Mags Sky's the limit, though they generally start around $30+ per Webbing $200+/- Batteries $30+ Chargers $40+ Ammo $20-25/ 5000 Take note the only thing you generally need to play either game is gun, ammo, mags if airsoft, hopper for paintball, charger/batteries/co2/compressed, air tank, goggles, ammo. That is bare bones. I might have missed some things but a lot of the expensive stuff is optional, just depends on how deep your pockets are, but in the giant scheme of things and the long run airsoft is cheaper. For example playing Airsoft I can play an entire month for $60 thats my field fees, and ammo for a month. Playing every weekend, or if I decide to play 2 days on the weekend thats only $100 per month. Paintball when I played for a team cost me $75 plus for field fee and ammo per day. I'd spend about $250 plus per month depending on what we were playin bush ball a little cheaper, speed ball big time costs. Hence paintball sucks.

I think what we have here is a failure to communicate. Flagraiders does not offer "airsoft" per se. They allow airsoft organizers to host on their fields. They do not own, rent, maintain or distribute AS equipment, nor do they really over see the games. They may allow paintball for youngins but have nothing to do with airsoft age limits. Sorry to burst your bubble. LD
