C8 IUR Inspired Build 1.0

So here's the first incarnation:

Normally I'm not really a fan of the two-tone body. This is just what I had lying around so thought I'd throw it together as sort of a preliminary blueprint.

Suppressor's not right... I have an Ops Inc suppressor, just waiting for some parts to arrive that will allow me to use it. Will have different BUS and an Ergo pistol grip to go on. So far I like the Dytac rail. Only took about 5 minutes to install and I have side rails on the way.

Looks very nice! Not a fan of the two tone either, but it's coming along nicely.

Yeah definitely a temporary thing. Just haven't transferred it all over to my G&P C8. And it's all getting a paint job so two tone will soon be gone either way!

And I'm finding I'm not entirely sold on the Elcan Specter yet. Seriously considering getting a flip magnifier and go the same route as the C8 in the original images.

Version 1.5!

G&P C8 IUR-Inspired AEG Build Version 1.5

Getting there! The SPR flash hider is really just a place holder until I arrange for something more custom. 3x Magnifier is on the way. I really like the Dytac SMR Mk5 rail however not long after I got it they came out with a Mk1 version that closer matches the IUR so that's likely getting switched out. Colour isn't an issue at this point as it's all getting painted!

Nice, I'm digging it.

Can't wait to see it complete w/ the custom barrel extension.

Btw, how much does the suppressor add to the overall barrel length?

Might want to clarify that it was built for trials. It's not issued or in use with DND.

The trial that has been redone twice due to silly things.

Spec do require Sub moa performance with suppressor which the KAC SR25 does day in and day out. Hence why in use with all US SF

EDIT: Oops... misread that... somehow... :P The supressor is 218mm or 8.5 inches long. The SPR Flash Hider adds 4 Inches onto the gun but overlaps that entire length into the suppressor so only approx. 4-5 inches extra with the suppressor. The custom barrel extension/flash hider will be pretty much the exact same dimensions so no real change just more accurate to the C8s in use.

And now to decide between the YHM 5004A RS handguard or the Dytac SMR Mk1 Marui Handguard... decisions, decisions...

Forgot to mention I'm trying to get as close to the look of the IUR as possible. Both are close in different ways. The Dytac's a little easier to get a hold of but I'm really liking the YHM.

Ay Carumba!

You would be on the real on though, apart from their price I've never used something so "perfect" for a battle rifle! Except at one point I was running a SR25 with a Schmidt and Bender 3-20x50, twas nice being able to hit really small things from a long ways away

I'm of the opinion that the C8 sitting on the gun case is a personal rifle.
Both are work rifles.
