I have always been super envious of people that have that kind of talent. I have to buy everything and hope that it works and looks half decent. Koodo's to you my friend that is one gorgeous piece of fonctioning gun art!!!

Anyone can do this stuff, half the reason for posting build logs is to show people how easy it is.

Okay it's 99% done, only thing left to do is the Tula inspection stamps but I'm waiting on the right metal stamp and it's a very small detail... I'm declaring this project completed. Here are some snaps of the finished product;

Yugo M70AB2. Just need to wait for my 3D printer to arrive so I can print an AEG compatible pistol grip.

Final pictures post; some nice evening light to showcase the rifle;

Close up of the rear barrel band showing Tula proof mark I stamped;

Close shot of bolt area and scope;

And finally a nice high res shot showing the whole rifle;

The finish is notably more matte vs the shiny finish from the fresh shellac. A very light weathering job was done on the metal components, scope and stock to give it a "lived in" look without getting drastic. As this is a supposed to be a 1936 manufactured rifle, it should only have a few years of "hard living" on it.

Been considering this for a while, getting back into WWII. Starting with SS, but want to do Soviet as well, so I'd stick with a standard Mosin to start.

I've got two real steel 91/30 and a few stocks kicking around

If you can get your hands on a WINGUN M44 Mosin Carbine it would make a much better base to start from; I'm planning on acquiring one myself to convert this rifle to gas.
