To me, range is a combination of 3 things (assuming all other aspects of the gun have no problems):
1. heavy BBs - 0.28 or heavier. Yes they cost a bit more, but SO worth it. 2. Good tightbore barrel 3. good hopup If you have those 3 elements in place, even a lot velocity gun will shoot ridiculous ranges and offer good accuracy. This is assuming that you have good airseal, consistant mechbox, etc...

What makes a hop up good?
Would a toki ba twist barrel work with a 378 fps aeg? |

If you want to run a TK Twist ideally you want to be below 335-ish FPS (which is more or less 1 Joule). It rapidly degrades in performance above 330. I believe Illusion tested them out and found that above 360 FPS you're looking at a rapid degradation in performance.
Note that I use FPS conventions relating to .20g BB's, the TK twist depends on the Joules of the BB, ideally you want less than 1J but pretty much it's still effective at less than 1.2 Joules.
