Stop trying to portray the frenchs as cowards.

It's American propaganda in revenge for the French refusal to participate in that stupid war of theirs.

Agreed. During the height of Polish rule, the country stretched from the Baltic to the Dead Sea. And Stayed there until the Prussians came along and the Teutons came in to "Save the day"

Ok guys lets move ahead, as this stupid kiddy war has already been discuted over and over before. English rules, Polish rules, French rules. Are you happy now ?

For the main topic, I would doubt Canda would ban airsoft, since they have pretty much bigger fish to worry about, and they have about 283590348591238123 other problems to care before hitting airsoft. Its sucks for the UK though, I bet Travis is eating his socks at this very moment  Lets see what will happen next.

Orange Flash-hiders won't do anything. They're aware of the fact that nearly the entire population of orange-tipped gun owners paints the tips black or removes them altogether. No?

The Labour force is equivalent to our Liberals... more or less.
The only thing we can do to stop this "pussyfication" is to go Conservative.

With the 18+ all over this forum, we're all old enough to vote so I say donate 30$ to the Conservatives to become a member of the CPC and vote for your local Conservative when the next election comes rolling around.

Obviously I understand that a crooked politician will always be a crooked politician, and honest isn't the name of their game, but as it stands, Airsoft (and Anything potentially harmfull) has the best chance with the CPC.
No more Gun Registry, no more banning of dogs, no more bullshit...

IMHO anyway.

We don't have a gun violence problem in Canada that's anywhere close to what exists in the states or the UK, banning of airsoft may happen here someday (honestly as much as I like it, if you asked me to PROVE we needed airsoft, it would be very hard), but without the pressures you get from a high crime situation here, it's just not a priority to ban airsoft. Our gun laws are far more liberal than the UK's with a fraction of the problems (and more restrictive than the states, with 1/10th the gun violence - canadians are doing something right!), it'll be awhile before someone can seriously look at them and get enough support to effectuate a change in legislation, one substantial enough to actually make a difference anyway.

Just keep to not shooting people walking down the street with your airsoft, it's working so far.

I'll go dig up the numbers. But don't kid yourself. With have a higher rate of violent crime in Canada (violent crime being a serious offense most often committed with a weapon) then in the states per capita. Same in Australia (where pretty much all guns are banned). The facts stand out crystal-clear: criminals have no more fears of breaking in or assauling someone.

Responsible citizens should have the choice to have a weapon for personal defense. Maybe not CCW (like I'd like, but Canada's got a bit of ways to go before even remotely accepting that), but a quick grab-and-go weapon for home defense.

Why? Home invasion with the person there is rapidly increasing. Criminals no longer fear anything gonig into a house, since they fully know they're usually the only ones that have a firearms at their immediate disposal. God I REALLY want to find that paper now, they polled all the inmates at a maximum security institute... 98% said they would NOT attempt to break in if there was a good chance the person was POSSIBLY armed. Forget definitely having a gun, but even just a chance of one being there. Deterrence is the best weapon against violence. Two years less a day (for minimum security) for gagging someone, threatning to kill them, etc., in a better environment then alot of poor people live in, is definitely NOT a good deterrence.

I'm sick and tired of how the Liberals say "you can only be a coward, possibly die", instead of fucking letting us defend ourselves.

People in this country have to really, REALLY quit fucking blanketing themselves with arrogance saying "oh we're better then the states that stuff doesn't happen here". Drop it. IT DOES. You've just been over-slabbed with Liberal propaganda from Canwest (a.k.a. "Global) and CBC. The stories of a person successfully defending against an attack with a firearm will ALWAYS be hushed.

I bet you ANYTHING, if someone broke into a homeowner's house, and the homeowner tried to defend themselves with a firearms he had open, just needed loading, they'd try to make out the homeowner as the monster. It definitely wouldn't be the first time they've done just that.

Of course, the current people in power find the most fucked up way to handle it, the incorrect way.

I'm tired of being criminalized. I am a fully law-abiding (save a few MP3's) citizen of this country, have no criminal history, yet I'm still made out to be the demon because I support defense, with whatever measures necessary. This country is just plain FUCKED UP. For once, just for fucking once, I'd like the convict to SHIT HIS PANTS. To be afraid of committing a break-in, or a rape, or whatever else, because he knows it might be the end of his sad, miserable, pathetic life. I want him to be afraid, and I never want to question my own security and how quickly the police will respond (and in Sudbury, it sure as hell still isn't quick enough).

The answer is clear: Drop the gun registry, quit criminalizing honest citizens, quit wasting time in the House of Commons, and spend that money on upgrading our jail facilities.

Well said firemachine...

And to fuel your fury some more, feast upon this
Not quite full yet? There's some more food here

The 700 Million Dollar Garbage Collection System is definitely effective, just as the criminals who benefit from it.
The system was flawed right from the get-go. What's the use in creating laws and restricting law-abiding citizens when the people that SHOULD be restricted are those who don't abide by the laws ANYWAY.

As was said, let's not kid ourselves, our time to face what the UK is facing is coming if the Liberals keep their grip on us. If you're against the Conservatives, for the love of all that is good and fun, vote for a party that Doesn't have "Wasting 700 million dollars on nothing effective","Scamming people out of their money for sponsorship","Steady banning of dogs until only puppies are allowed to live" as their party platforms.

I don't mean to hijack this thread and make it about gun laws, since Airsoft is a bit far from the real deal in terms of laws set upon it... but with the way things are going, I can predict a future where anything that launches any sort of projectile will be outlawed. Guns, Airsoft, Paintball, Bows, Crossbows, Slingshots.

As a side note, I once went to Peel Police Headquarters to find out about laws regarding archery... and it turns out that you cannot shoot your bow in your backyard, infact, you can't even shoot a SLINGSHOT in your backyard in most municipalities... the reason being? They fall under the same bilaws that prevent people from shooting any weapon within the city limits... How the hell can they categorize a Slingshot and a fucking Gun together? And how far off do you think Airsoft is from all of this?

That dog thing was... Just stupid. Again. It's to make the PERSON responsible for their actions, not the object they chose to do it with. Don't criminalize the dog. Criminalize the irresponsible owners.

I'm not very fond of the Conservatives. But they may just be our last hope for a country that half makes sense.
