Want it or not...WE's entire product line is going Open Bolt. I'm sure that you'll still be able to get parts for the closed bolt system for some time still...but eventually it won't be worth the headaches.
Factoring in the cost of the gun...it'll eventually be simply more expedient to buy the new system. Considering the investment of mags...if you're sitting on a bunch of closed bolt mags, it's not a hugely expensive, nor is it complicated, to swap them over to open bolt. I've got an M4 closed bolt....and a PDW closed bolt.... The open bolt kits have been out for a while...and when two things happen, I'll switch over. 1. A workable/proved open bolt kit for the M4...2. my shooting buddies switch over. I'm certainly not going to double up on my mags...14 for one system and 14 for another. I'll be giving the Falcon system a workout soon. I've got high hopes for that one. |

BTW is the WE M4A1 open bolt and the HK 416 open bolt similar? or is there a huge difference? I'm debating on getting either one of them

Internally exactly the same, externally very similar receiver wise.
