The surge I expected, them loosing it once it was on the truck to be delivered 2 days ago....that was not so much expected.
Called cp today, surprisingly only spent maybe 15 min on hold before getting through. Apparantly they are passing my service ticket number onto the distribution centre supervisor here in winnipeg to figure out what the heck happend.

Makes sense.
Okay now this is odd, i got a package that was in vancouver, delayed by the strike...blah blah blah, but rather than being reviewed by customs in vancouver like it usually is.....somehow today it ended up with customs in MISSISSAUGA last night....how the hell does that work? Im in freaking winnipeg, why would they waste their own time and money bouncing the package across the country like a freakin pinball?

If one warehouse is backlogged and the other is looking for work maybe they'd cross ship.
Still some of those odd jumps you see in tracking are more down to a error in the system vs. the actual package crossing the country multiple times.

All my credit card statements have not arrived, along with requested re-mails of said statements. Other mail seems to have no problem getting here though... Seems like something funky is happening down the line.
I know other people who's reissued CC's are also not arriving along with bill statements too. |

I think they're using a LIFO method of mail delivery right now.

why LIFO instead of FIFO?

Because their objective is to piss off as many people as possible.
(also, just based on what I've seen.. packages and letters mailed after the strike ended seem to be getting to their destination now, but ones mailed during or just before the strike are taking significantly longer)

Depending on what service is used it has a delivered by date or refund. All the old stuff even if they used that level of service does not have that. So they keep the new moving to avoid giving refunds. Of course the reg mail doesn't have refunds but it moves with the stuff that does in the same bags. This was the reason I was given from my cp guy.
I don't think I have anything old I'm waiting on now thankfully.

Your going to have a lot of fun in the near future. This is what I have been going through since June 6. My package was not addressed properly. It was sent to the depot. I called same day and they said they have 10 business days to make a decision on updating the address (they wont ship it to a local pick up and let me show ID and pick it up). The catch is that package will be returned to sender in 5 days. So no suprise for me it has been returned to sender (day before the strike). They told me RTS mail is the lowest of the low to CP and can take months to get back to the sender (and thats when things are running normal), as there is NO priority. It was just today that something happened and all it was, was the package had arrived at the returned mail depot. Call CP and have them open a trace. They can tell you why it has ended up where it has and might be able to correct things before its RTS. It will get dealt with its just a matter of time and lots of it. I wish you the best and hope you get it sorted out without it being RTS.
