Back in the day, me and my bud had a 1 on 1 game. There was no hit rule, just fall back and regroup. Anyways, i was behind a large tree being shot at from about 15 yards away.
A bb bounced off the tree and hit me in the mouth, end result being a chipped tooth. Thankfully not a very large chip, didnt even need to fill it in.

This was Through a thin layer of shemagh AND a closed mouth.

now i usually wear a mesh mask.

This summer. A guy shot a M203 and it hit a somewhat dead tree... 5-6inches Diamiter branch fell off and hit me on the head. 3 Displaced vertabaes. Nice freak accident. Had to see a Chiro again in the past few weeks cause of that :P

Yes and no. It all depends on the size of the vent, the velocity and energy of the BB transferred to the target, and the angle of the shot in accordance with the angle of the vent.

Those mesh masks work great me and a number of players I shoot with use em they go over ur face not in ur mouth lol a lot easier to talk with and a lot more protection than mouth guards I've seen a buddy get a chipped tooth b4 n the guy still refuses to wear protection lol also seen a guy get shot pretty much point blank purely by accident and we had to dig this bb out from the back of his ear always protect what u don't want hurt lol

Right, I was just stating that we should not rule out mesh masks as was implied previously.

I use the half mesh mask and line it with craft felt, it keeps the mask confortable against the face and protects against bb's that might scrapenal into the mouth and cheek area.

Well I have a new one, didn't occur while playing, but working on my WE. I was pushing the big retaining pin out of the hop up unit, when the punch I was using slipped and went into my hand about half an inch. Sweet piss did that hurt, maybe not as much as the alcohol rinse afterwords....

Probably already mentioned but I watched a guy at sweats paintball loose his tooth last summer. All that was left was a little spike of tooth. He kept shooting though. Kudos on that.

Read the description blind fire 6m with a 570fps gun. Who in gods name would let someone use a 570fps gun let alone let them shoot from that close or blind fire. I say the person who shot that deserves to have the stupid beat outta them.

We've had a few good ones.

-I've had two teeth broken.
-Specter had a BB lodged in his face from Blind fire.
-Scarface stepped in a prairie dog hole, and his ankle wrapped completely around with his foot still in the hole.
-Another guy took a grenade to the face the instant it went off. (instant concussion)
-I had a grenade go off in my hand. (I'm lucky to have all my fingers, hurt like he'll though.)
-Tomahawk got side swiped by a dog doing Mach-chicken, and went ass over tea kettle.
-We had a lumber pile we'd use for cover, and the same dog knocked it over on someone hiding behind it.
-One of ours near had his thumb ripped off jumping over a wall. His thumb was bent damn near backwards.
-Nacho got severe heat stroke, and over hydration at a misim. He had to be evacuated as the battle started at a milsim.

-Best ever though was what happened to Rogue. He had his M16 leaned against his leg, while he was fixing his gear. The barrel mounted M203 was pressed up against his nuts. One of our guys walked by and pretended to drop a magazine, and depressed the M203 trigger (Yup, on purpose.). A lot of BB's point blank to the junk. We still laugh over that one.
