Thanks (by the way, I did place an order for an OEM chamber through Taktik, thanks Kos-Mos) |

Here are some preliminary results of the steel hop up chambers:
1. The hop up chamber is significantly smaller cause it to be loose within the chamber ring as shown here: 2. The stock nozzle fits tightly within the hop up chamber which may be problematic for cycling. I will find a solution to rectify this issue. Last edited by turok_t; October 6th, 2017 at 22:43.. |

I have seen up to 0.015" per inch of diameter change... However theses don't seem to be fully CNC from a barstock, more like cast. In that case, they would have simply fudged the calculations... there is always a lot of shrinking when casting parts. |

Threadon bottom of M4 mag stripped
Hi,
Anybody got any ideas on what to do if the thread at the bottom of the v2 mag strips so that the screw provided isn't long enough to engage the thread to keep the shell on? Cheers Tom

It's an old trick to "fix" smallish threads in RC cars. |

Just to check, I will be able to unscrew it when the time comes to dismantle and relube the mag right?

There is no reason to open them (unless you burried them in fine sand). Mixed oil on propane/GG lube the mag and valves plenty. But yes, you will be able to unscrew it. It will break the baking soda/glue, so you will have to clean the hole a bit and reapply the above. |

You know you need silicone oil to blow in the nozzle to lube the nozzle o-ring.
It will get in the hop-up chamber regardless what you do. Also, if you lube your gas enough, and always leave some in your mags, you won't have leaks developing... as I said, 3 years and 12 mags without leaks. |

Installed the Steel Hopup. Had to shim it by making a new chamber ring out of a Fenix Flashlight Clip, but the end result is a perfect fit. Rifle functions flawlessly with 100 rounds through it.

Have you checked the FPS before/after you installed the steel chamber?

It's a long shot, but anyone has a spare M4 upper IN MONTREAL or close enough to arrive before the week-end?
I found out mine was broken at the delta ring threads... and well I planned to field the gun Sunday... I really would appreciate not having to pull the old sewing machine out. PM obviously. |
