I do believe the network wouldn't pick up the second season due to the fact that it was reminded the public of events currently taking place overseas. They said the public wasn't ready to deal with the realism. Too bad, it was a great show. I guess Steven Bochco will have to go back to making cop shows again. There's nothing like good ol' Hill Street Blues.

from Wikipedia (I suppose these may be spoilers);
'According to an MTV News interview with the film's co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead, the story of Death Proof will be set around a fictional movie shoot. Winstead plays a character named Lee, who's an up-and-coming film actress starring in her first big movie. Rosario Dawson plays her makeup artist, while Zoë Bell and Tracie Thoms play stunt women. The girls hang out together and have a good time until a psychotic killer named Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell) begins to stalk them with his souped-up "death proof" cars: a 1970 Chevy Nova and Dodge Charger.'

Indeed it is. Is it an actual weapon, or just a mod of the FA-MAS made for the movie? I was trying to find information online about the Type-03 but didn't turn up anything.
