mach1airsoft.com and 007airsoft.com have better airsoft guns and service from what i have heard.

also if you are going to go for something cheap go for the kraken, they are decent guns and can be found in bass pro shops for around 150-200.

If you really want to get in on the cheap then go to basspro in vaughn mills and buy either the TF16 or any of the aftermath products. They are all over 360fps and under $150. There are many reviews of them online and on this board. You can then paint them.

You CANNOT import from the US.

If you want to get camo on the cheap, go to walmart and pick out some woodland LONG sleeved shirts and pants. Bass pro also has some stuff but its pretty expensive.

You must wear good face protection. On this you cannot scrimp. Get paintball masks and a very thin ski mask that will cover your neck. Make sure they are NON fogging. The airsoft goggles that basspro sells is complete crap.

There are many guys here who are hardcore, some are laid back. If you want to get into this seriously then save your money and get a good gun and more realistic clothing. If not, dont waste your money.

TF16 is pure crap, do some research before recommending it to someone else, of the guns at Bass Pro, the Aftermath Kraken ranks first, followed by either the Lycaon or Broxa. They all come with Hi-capacity mags, so no need to buy any more, and the Kraken is 139.99 plus tax so it is in your budget.

you can also get your bb's and face protection there, problem solved.
and unlike most airsoft retailers, you can always return your guns to them should you not like them

Thank you, this was really helpful, the Kraken does look like it would be perfectly reasonable for my needs. You mentioned S.I.R. as a retailer, but having trouble finding more information about them. Is there a full name I should use to search? Do they have a website? Do they ship?

Thank you in advance.

You might also want to try some of that "research" thing too.

so you find ONE FUCKING REVIEW that says the TF16 is good and you think you're slick? ask BORDENSNIPER (poster of that thread) if he still has that TF16 and if it is any good, in fact ask anyone on this board if the TF16 is any good and you will have your answer, learn to crawl before you walk young noob.

Listen, instead of arguing, why dont you read my post again, and then come up with reasons why the gun is a bad one for someone who only wants to spend $150.

- the TF16 gun is crap, everyone knows this, do some research, and by research I dont mean one review by one person who; by the end of that thread is saying the gun is shit, read some more reviews by other ppl (non-noobs only, noobs' opinions don't count, they don't know anything)

- for someone on a limited budget, the kraken is a way better gun requiring alot less modification to be a good gun for gaming with, type kraken in the search function on this site and you will find TONS of threads on the subject saying that it is the best entry-level gun for the money, this is COMMON KNOWLEDGE

- the kraken is 140 plus tax, I'd say that puts it in his range, no?

So apart from "noob's opinons dont count" and the "TF16 gun is crap, everyone knows this" do you have any other reasonable arguements?

Did you ever examine the gun yourself? Have you found the receiver plastic to be inferrior? Is the v2 gearbox unreliable?

So I am a Newbie, and this is the Newbie section of asc. I had hoped to be able to come here and speak my mind without being flamed. If I have offered any advice that is incorrect, please correct me. But dont call me out because "noob's opinions dont count"
