I have an MP5A4 (the one with the full stock), and I love it. Small, easy to maneuver. Of course, my primary is a G36, not an M4 or something small.

Well, everyone has their own tastes
EDIT: I have a JG MP5SD5 and I love it as well...it's still quite small even with the SD5 version. |

Okay...JG Im not sure about...
I'll tell you what I know. My TM MP5 went four years without needing any repair. Yes, I ran it stock. If you're new you should seriously consider running sub 300 fps. Reasons: 1-when you shoot some guy a few too many times its not a huge deal 2-you can worry less about #1 and do more of #3 3-You can engage closer without worry of injury 4-You will become a better airsofter Now...make sure you get an mp5 which takes a large battery. Buy a large 8.4 3300 mah. It will fit if you make it. Reasons: 1-awesome trigger response 2-battery life is so good you can get along without owning a charger! Magazines: Buy midcaps. UN company has a boxset of six Classic Army metal 100 round mids which feed perfectly in TM. Probably $85 to your door. Serious value. If the game is locaps only just load your mags with 50 rounds - the game is already based on the honour system. Finally, the sd series sucks. Extra length just just for looks? PLEASE. The suppressor barely does anything. Plus, if you engaging at point blank range (like a good submachine gunner with stock gun does) then the supressor is useless anyways.

But it looks awesome.....it's all about looks And for getting a JG, it's my first AEG, didn't have the money for a TM plus I didn't want to get the BEST gun right off the bat.

I'd also strongly recommend a full stock MP5. The advantages of running a large battery pack with sub-C cells is worth it. Trigger response is incredibly fast, you get a good, solid rate of fire, and you can get a stupid number of shots between charges. Switching my MP5 from the slither stock to a full stock was one of my best decisions with that gun and I don't regret it in the slightest. I run an 8.4V 2500 mAh Ni-MH battery and it's awesome.

There is no reason to put a huge, ugly full stock on an mp5. As long as you don't have the sd, you can get a variety of front end ris units that can hold some very big batteries. Or a peq box.
The sliding stock rules. Can be super compact for hiding, maneovering and cqb and pulls out to 4 or 5 positions when you need it. For cheap mags, go to airsoftparts.ca. Jugglez has KA 100rnd mp5 mags, 5 for $40. They're plastic but if you oil them, they work beautifully. They're good enough to feed my lipo mp5 without missing. A stock tm is practically useless in outdoor games. It was my first gun.

its called tough love buddy. also you can get cheap mags at capital airsoft though there always out of stock. In my opinon a gun thats metal out weighs a plastic gun with better interals. the reason is the metal body is more expensive compared to the internals

I beg to differ. It doesn't suck if the suppressor is a tracer unit!

Hey, why not have a silencer? Since these guns don't go "BANG", might as well have something that at least LOOKS like it's supposed to be quiet.

I like the look of the SD's the best that was my reason#1 for getting it. its hard when i have never shot or owned another gun but rentals. From that i see i think it would be a good fit for me.

That's what I chose. Because the jg mp5 ras's front end is too small for a battery and the navy foregrip that holds the batttery is just ugly and can only hold a small, I slapped a small KA peq box on with the matching 11.1v lipo.
Trigger response is instantaneous, rof is great, dumped almost 4000 bbs last week without needing a recharge. Love it. Wasn't sure I'd like the look at first, but I do. It looks Mean with the ras, scope, light and foregrip. Silencers actually seem to help mp5 burst accuracy at range. And they look good.
