I used laylax springs and they were great.
What brand of BB's? If the field you'll be playing at has high winds, you may want to switch to a .36 by Straight. |

TSD L96 clone disassembly should be the same as the Mauser clone? I'm referring to this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJovy1nxd1M
Edit: I just disassembled my TSD and it's pretty much the same. However, when I put the gun back together I found that it was actually more accurate than before it was disassembled! Before, I used to consistently get 1" to 1.5" groupings from about 40'. Now i'm consistently getting 0.5" to 1" groupings from the same distance. Weird. Here's what i did: -took barrel and receiver off stock -took trigger system off -took out bolt assembly -took out cylinder -put the cylinder (and everything else) back in place I didn't touch the inner barrel and i didn't unscrew the outer from the receiver (i'm still having trouble taking off the orange muzzle tip). Sorry about opening this thread after a while, but I figured this question doesn't deserve a whole thread.
To get a tightbore barrel, a PDI Hopup needs to be installed? Or does the PDI just make it easier to find a barrel because any AEG tightbore would fit? And lol I would have no idea what I was doing installing the hop-up |

I believe the PDI hop-up chamber allows you to use AEG barrels which are more readily available (anyone feel free to correct me). With the stock hop-up chamber you can only use parts that are replacements for the original part. I believe that the smallest diameter of inner barrel I've seen for the original hop-up chamber is 6.04mm.

AZNpos531 is right, although there was an OK Inner barrel that was 6.03 (for the stock hop-up chamber), wgc says it was discontinued.
If you've got a clone gun, it'll help a lot to get the PDI chamber. airsoftparts.ca had some in stock last I saw, and they're local to you. |

This brings up another question in my mind directed to all you experienced snipers out there. How much difference does 0.01mm make in terms of the inner barrel? Is there any noticeable difference between having a 6.04mm and a 6.03mm inner barrel? (This is of course assuming hop-up, spring etc. are the same)

Most BB's aren't 6mm. They are in fact supposed to be 5.97 +/- .01mm (or something like that. Depending on brand there will be variations to this).
The best way to find out what size your barrel is (without knowledge of what parts are actually in your gun) is to use a set of calipers. Otherwise most stock guns come with 6.08 mm barrels.

Hey
Should i get a silencer for my L96? which kind? what spring should i get to counter the speed reduction caused by the silencer? what does the sp mean? ( i.e. 170sp) or the ( 210%) |

Silencers are only useful if you plan on getting a longer inner barrel, in which case, i don't believe having a silencer would reduce your FPS. SP Refers to the strength of the spring, a higher SP means a stronger spring.

I use a PDI 210% in my L96 and it gets about 410fps with .20, I believe the PSS2 springs are slightly different. I think 150sp is about the same, but don't quote me on that. A silencer doesn't reduce noise since the noise comes from the piston, filling your stock with foam does pretty well to dampen the sound.
