Gun rental setup

I think the best thing to do at the moment is to buy one AK, one JG M4, one sig 552, and one VSR 10 and or L96, give it some variety. 2 high caps for all AEG's and 4 mags for the sniper. $30 for all AEG's and maybe $40 for the sniper a day. bag of 500 bb's .2g $5, bag of 1000 bb's .2g $10.

Charging by the hour is going to be MUCH too hard to keep track of, the best thing to do is take their driver's license (To insure that they give you the gun back at the end of the day) and their money, then once they're done give them their license back.

Don't rent sniper rifles, Most fields aren't keen on having noobs firing high FPS rifles.

Don't bother lowcaps. That's just more expense and more risk (Losing them)

Start small, Start with 1 AEG setup... then once it pays its self off, get another one. If you start with one and find out that there isn't enough interested in your local area to pay off one of the guns, you wont be out that much money.

Check out the BCAC and Op For forums. IIRC one of them has a "rides/rental" section where people can post rides to/from the field and rentals for games.

Also you could try basing your system off of "3quip" (run by Kampfer IIRC).

EDIT: Don't rent out sniper rifles. Especially in Vancouver, I believe that you must pass a "Sniper qual course" for you to be able to bring a hot gun onto the field and that's after you pass "Basic Training".

Take their credit card number, and tell them if they damage the gun, or decide to drive away with it, the card gets charged. they sign a rental agreement, which is also the release, that also covers your ass if they hurt themselves etc. the whole deal needs to be covered. Do you have insurance?
It is like renting clubs or power carts at the golf course. Get a credit card number.
As far as guns go, I would stick with one style, so you can buy them in bulk, for savings and as well replacement parts. Only one style to worry about. No huge inventory of spare parts and mags etc. More styles = Pain in the Ass. Especially if you have no experience doing any of that type of thing.
Start small and simple, and grow from there. As you gain insight and experience in what you are doing. If it works for you with one style for awhile, and you are making some money, then consider adding another style.

I played airsoft in israel alot over the past 2 years it's a bit different down their, rules and what not. Classic armys are quite common, i only started this year in Canada. A good friend of mine, runs a AEG rental shop in israel. I'm only interested in trying it out. I want to finnish school at the moment. I don't play Airsoft alot to busy with school work Girl friend.....etx, i think some of you can relate,

your 16. so in two years things could be and most likely will be very different then they are now. plus there really is not that much demand for rentals. airsoft here is not run like paintball where you can show up with nothing and go.

This is it right here, there arent that many new players coming out to games without equipment. Its usually friends of players. I started off with 4 rentals and eventually got down too 1. Not because they broke but because thier just werent enough drop in players to require more rentals. Have you played a game or signed up on thier forums with either club yet? Getting to know the local players and clubs before even thinkin about this is the best thing you could do.

The guys I play with here at least have one gun in the "Armoury" (A FAMAS IIRC) and that's for new players or if one of our guns goes down/need to charge up our battery.

If Van had a setup more like Calgary then I would probably see a good business. For now though just get one and use it as a backup/rental. Also CYA, Canada seems to be getting more like the US with "lawsuit this, restraining order that".

I'm currently working on building a retail business in airsoft and have a rental plan already laid out for the most part. Obviously certain details need some work but I will have my own field and sales to support the rentals if they cannot cover themselves, not dealing with rentals exclusively.
In the case of a new player, right off the newb-wagon enters the store and decides they would like to try the game out. They would be supplied with safety equipment, ammo, gear, and gun. Each has a separate rental price and its own security deposit which is later returned when the equipment is brought back in good working order. They will also be given a small familiarization course before the game begins by assigned field marshals. (Oldskool players who know the game show them the ropes)
Any returning customers/players will be supplied with the equipment they need, they may have their own gun or ammo but need a pair of glasses, etc. This will also require a security deposit.
Vets, returning long term customers, etc, the security deposit is waived and they get w/e they need.

Now as a rental supplier you'll need to keep things in mind that are key in any business. Maintenance, cost, liability, and demand for items. It would be a good idea to keep your cache full of all kinds of toys, sidearms, AEGs, GBBs, even re-usable grenades. The pricing is up to you. Try to look at your economical situation as well as how popular the game is in your area. Maintenance will be very common you'll have to inspect every piece of equipment after EACH use. It is important to have easily reparable/replaceable parts that are also durable or low cost. It's key in customer service and good manners to provide well kept equipment. You're customers will appreciate this.
