Interesting, when I order from hongkong my items usually go to customs in Vancouver, and are usually released from there as well. Perhaps its just relevant to where you live I guess.

Just got home from watching Beowulf. Great freaking movie. Grendel was scary as F%$K. Good choice of movie if you guys have not seen it yet. edit found this http://www.cbc.ca/consumers/market/f...ees/steps.html "There is a way to avoid paying the brokerage fee. Instead of the courier company clearing customs, you can do the job. All it takes is a little leg work. That's what Shannon Fontaine did. She was determined not to pay the $34 brokerage fee on flashing safety belts, a gift from her brother in Florida, worth about $75. She refused the package when it was delivered to her door. Another option is to tell the company you're buying from to clearly mark on the package that you will take care of clearing customs. The Canadian Couriers Association recommends telling the company to mark this information clearly on the waybill as well. Once the package arrives you should be notified. Here's what you do next:

My experience with these canadian customs brokers is positive. I recommend W2C Customs, especially for larger orders.

CBSA office is on Britania Dr. Mississauga.
The tracking will say 'sent to customs for further processing' when its in customs, though lately I've found the CP website to be lagging on updates... like my shit is accepted into the system and then nothing much till it ends up at my door. This happened to both my recent orders from Russia for my "tourist vest" with "cross fit plates" and the new "motorcycle helmet" I just bought :P |
