One thing I've noticed about A&A pricing is that it's rather aestetics based. Basically, if you've got a plain looking Gun A and a close cousin but more exotic looking Gun B, expect to pay significantly more for Gun B even if Gun B actually has a lower price in HK than Gun A. This is especially true if Gun B is also slightly newer.
Take A&A's KJW P226 and P229 for example. In HK, P226 costs more than P229. From A&A, the P229 is more than the P226. Considering that KJW took away metal to make the P229, it isn't even because it's a bigger gun. I can live with the markup and I appreciate the trouble Mark goes through to import airsoft into Canada, but I'd certainly appreciate some logic and consistency in deciding the markup beyond "it looks cooler so it'll way cost more". But I also think the F2000 is a rather ugly gun and anyone willing to pay $500 for it must be too insane anyways.

Well let's see, comparing to the good old USA.
LA Pop = 9 948 081, California Pop = 36 457 549 USA Pop = 299,398,484. GTA Pop= 4 682 897, Ontario Pop = 12 160 282, Canada Pop = 33 390 141. Yay we've got you in our sights California! OK so besides the fact that any business run in Canada costs more than in the US, and Airsoft end costs many times more just factor in the pool of customers you have to draw on. Bringing in a LCL (less than container load) from Asia is brutally expensive. It's not cheap to do a full container either but that cost can be spread across many other customers. The airsoft retailers are like the guys trying to breed extinct animals in the zoo. They're trying to keep the the breed alive but the gene pool is too small and muddy. So now you ask what can I do? Support both retailers in Canada by purchasing from them. Don't feel the urge to snow them under with emails, or beg them for a discount on a special you need them to import so you can have a look at it. Once you build a relationship with a shop them maybe your personal pricing will improve. |

My m70 kit cost me AK - 600-700 preupgraded Metal Body including front set, lower and upper receiver - 200 front sight, rear sight, ics bolt - 100 custom woodkit - 100-120 trunnion - 40 akm flash hider - 40 Lowest cost possible: 1080. I could probably buy 2 aks for the price of my airsoft gun (one folding stock other full stock).

Problem with the M70 - it's prohibited in Canada.

What pisses me off is that its easier and cheaper to buy a real gun in Canada than a airsoft gun... Is it just me or is their something wrong there??

Well, there's more gray zones with airsoft, than there is with RS (to my knowledge) so.... That's probably why.. |

I've kindof just learned to accept it. The L85 I bought from 007 costs $130USD on WGC. A&A wanted $570 + tax and shipping for it, Ken charged me $560 including tax and shipping. Roughly 4 times the cost. Not really anything one can do about it. If you want the guns, you have to pay.
Lolz. +1 to that.

i think Yuxi is just saying that it seems like you are attack some of the members in that you think we are saying that business should NOT make a profit. this is not what we mean at all. We are just saying how ridiculous it is that there is (in some cases) a 300% markup. and while we understand the fees and the profit and whatnot, 300% is excessive. I mean, how much profit do they really need to make? they can lower the profit and still make a fortune because they are a monopoly

I don't think 300% markup is that excessive when you consider the potential of getting charged with Weapons Trafficking.

No, you really don't. Basically, even with a licence to bring them, there effectively exists no licence to sell to the public.
