thats a nice job for not having access to machines!
when i made my HK11, the barrel and gas tube were made from solid round bar, so its built in 11" sections and simply threaded together with minimal thread clearance giving it excellent stability, i REALLY wish i had a carbide drill bit for it though, the carbon steel drill bit I used walked about .015 out of round so its a snug fit around my inner barrel lol did you put a chamfer on the end of your inner barrel after you cut it? |

Dude, if you can come up with a realistic blueprint for a PkM machinegun I will sell a kidney for it.

Cosmic. I'm planning a PKM, but it will have the same fate as the Shrike; the drawing will be free, you just have to build your own. Or find a fellow enthusiast with basic tools. It will have a massive ammo box like we are seeing in the pics from Iraq. Big batteries, lots of ammo, etc.
GOOD PKM photos are rare...A good clear side shot and a few 3/4 shots will give me a clearer idea of the shapes to make. Got a good shot of a PKM? send it to: ianbivens@hotmail.com I'll start a PKM wishlist topic for this project. I took a sharp deburring tool to the cut barrel end. As long as your cut ends of the outer barrel are absolutely clean, JB will hold about forever. It is VERY important to not mess with the hardening material, any movement at this stage will cause microscopic flaws in the bonds that WILL fail. My barrel is as solid as new. |
