I think he might be refering to M700 springer snipers like the Sun Project...

Interesting...

At any rate, I don't think it's worth it at all to upgrade an MP7 for high velocity. It's such a short barreled gun, that returns would be exponentially diminished. The amount of money and damage you would have to put in to the gun totally wouldn't be worth it, and it would also exceed the purpose of that gun in the first place.

I think part of the problem is people want to upgrade it the way they upgrade MP5s to try and match assault rifles.

If you're looking for a primary to keep up with the "big guns" the MP7 isn't the ticket, but if you use it in the capacity it (the real one) was designed for - a PDW - it delivers as advertised. I find it shoots [stock] similar to a Marui GBB on duster, which isn't anything special, but more than adequate in CQB and short range engagements; the bonus is all weather full auto capabilities with no gas cool down, and cheap mags (relative to GBB mags). There's even realcap 20 rnd mags for the diehard milsimmers. (mags fit nicely in MOLLE pistol mag pouches, too)

I know a lot of snipers look for automatic pistols and even small AEGs as a secondary weapon since they can't engage people at close range with their rifle (that's one of the reasons I got mine); the MP7 fills that roll quite nicely. The only upgrade I want to do on mine is add a tightbore barrel.

I very much agree. Very nicely put.

I could be wrong I will have to check the email after I get home today but i am sure it was a sun project, but the dude told me that he figured any low/stock strength spring from a bolt action should fit, you just need to crack open the cylinder (I am not sure about this as I dont open any of my guns)

I do have to say everytime I use my Mp7 I am further impressed with it. Although I did break one side of the mag release.
JOC held a night game in may and a tema member of mine had his gun go down, he asked for a gun and I handed him my mp7 as I also had my AUG with me. He had never shot the gun and it was very dark and not a good target but I heard a little fp fp fp and he handed me the gun back with damn that thing is accurate I shoot that dude in the tiny window.

I don't think "any" low/stock strength bolt action spring would fit. The MP7 spring is actually very narrow, much more narrow than any of the APS springs I've handled.

I have never opened a bolt so I don't know, I do know that the MP7 spring is tiny, I have handled my upgraded and stock spring. Just telling you what I was told, but I started to search out my mp7 upgrades right when I got my gun last year and there was no aftermarket parts availible.

There is a factory in Calgary here that will make you a custom spring so I was going to take them my stock MP7 spring and ask for something with 25-30% more compression resistance (I don't know how springs are measured, I figured it is in compression resistance but i am just guessing). After buying a Nine Ball spring and having it continually lose FPS I don't want to purchase another spring

Hey Raw Deal..... you were wrong then and still are I have put over 10000 bbs thru my gun with the 9.6, mostly very quickly as with 9.6 I blow a full stock mag in under 2 steamboats

Apparently the internals are the same as the TM G18c.

Here's a planetairsoft review.

Not completely. Some of the parts are different, such as the piston, cylinder, cylinder head, piston head, bushings/bearings... did I miss anything?

Illusion I lied to you; I stated that i would get you that info of what bolt action you would get a spring out of but I can't. Apparently a lightning bolt hit our "node" so I don't have TV or internet at home until saturday and I can't access my personal email provider from work.

Don't worry about it, I'm not looking to actually put in a stronger spring in my MP7 anyways. I feel that it doesn't need any such power upgrades. It performs fine the way it is.

Yes... this is the first gun in which I haven't played with the power output... :P
