The Thompson body is metal already, for the most part.

Seems more recent releases from TM have more metal in em. Thompson (ver.6 mechbox so its more recent), M14 (ver.7 mechbox), and Type 89 (ver.8 mechbox). I doubt they want to go back and make a metal version of the AK since its an older gun (ver.3 mechbox) as they want to get new guns out and there are already tonnes of metal bodies on the market for the AK.

From what I can recall the foregrip and stock are plastic, but everything else is metal, including the butt of the stock. The one thing that freaked me out was that the stock, being made of two pieces, would occasionally crack apart about a millimeter, so this seam would appear. I was told by the owner that that happened, so to be careful, but it still got me a little bit nervous about using it.

Thommy's an SMG.
I have a thompson, never used an m14, so I can't tell you what I prefer. However, I love my M1A1 very much... either way, I can't see you going wrong anywhere... either gun would probably be a fine purchase. Last edited by Andres; June 26th, 2007 at 00:58.. |
