Sorry to bring back such an ancient topic but hey, better to reuse an existing one than to duplicate it, eh?

Anyway, Canada is indeed a HORROR when it comes to importing things here ;_;

It took me almost a bloody year to gather up all the parts, as the local dealers carry NOTHING, not even simplest bits such as an AKM-styled front sight post, grip, receiver cover, nor 90-degree gas blocks, nor ANY needed parts... gaaaah! :banghead:

The metal body finally came in... all taped up in yellow tape at customs, where it spent over a week! But it was finally released... thank God...

Anyway, the point of my post is that another wz96 Beryl airsoft rifle is being born Started life as a Kraken and went a long way since then.

All that's left to do now is to get the sidefolder stock on - and I'll do it within a week, as soon as my custom rear trunnion is done I'll still need to import a set of tritium sights, chop the cleaning rod into a bipod stabilizer peg and install a bipod retainer collar, but either way, it's almost done, and better than before - with a real Beryl stock and a more accurate front sight base

Very nice. You're very lucky the receiver got released by customs. :P

Since you're doing such a nice job, I'll nitpick a detail: the bottom rear rivet shouldn't be on the receiver, you should grind it off

Well, there should be three rivets holding the rear trunnion... the problem is the third one is higher on the real thing (see the rifle on the right on this photo: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...ryl_Rifle.JPEG )

I might do something about it while installing the stock, we'll see

Thanks for pointing it out!

Thanks a lot, guys! I'm very happy with how it's turning out, too
There's still some work to do, though...

A small update

Nowhere near as ambitious as the magnificent replicas xxxFENCExxx builds, but accurate enough, considering the severe restrictions in importing gun parts to Canada...

It's only about 90% done, there's still a bunch of little details I have to do, but it's just cosmetic stuff now.

Heh, I wish I haven't done that myself in a couple of years. I just collected a bunch of cases from a shooting club

I do have ONE gripe, though. The optic is kinda outta place. I mean... That rifle looks like it'd be better suited for an Aimpoint, or EOTech, no?
