hmm..but i already upgraded my piston head to a duracon w/bearings...i thnk thats similiar to polycarbonate..not sure tho.
ok say this, what if i do install the sp120 and i only shoot 400fps. should i upgrade the gears then? basically i wanna be able to shoot 400fps with out doin any other upgrades than i already have which is : duracon pison head and metal bushings. i was told that this is all i needed if my gun shoots 400fps. but now your sayin if i put in a sp120, i should upgrade the gears..and some other ppl say the spring guard. are u sayin to put in new gears only if the sp120 brings my fps over 400? |

One thing I've been told is the Guarder springs shoot a bit hotter than equivalent Prometheus springs. Looks like this is true based upon all the different variations in fps of the 110 spring. Anyone care to edit their posts (if not already specified) so we can see the brand of spring used? Like I said, I get about 350-360 out of my MP5 with Prometheus 110SP, but I see others say they have the 110SP as well and get close to 400. Are those Guarder springs?

Thanks! Odd that my 110SP is shooting lower than it should be. Yes, installed it the right way, but considering I have a bearing spring guidein there as well, I should be upwards of 380-390fps, but am 30fps lower than that.

no, Prometheus seems to be very accurate in their spring labling. Since the MS110sp stands for 110 meters per second, it should land exactly 360.892389fps, and in otherwise stock guns, it should, and does.
I hear people say alot of stuff about tightbores. On arnies the other day, one guy said that by adding a same length 6.04 tightbore to his M4, that he gained 30-40fps...Bull. A tightbores effect on fps is usually close to 5-15fps. I have a chrony right here and if I swamp out my tightbore to my stock barrel...yup, on average 8fps difference. Bearing spring guide, about the same. Should not give much boost at all. Stalkers sub 360fps shooting may simply be dure to piston head or cylinder head. But if the 110sp has him hitting 360fps, then he is right where he should be. I also have a prometheus MS120sp and its landing me almost exactly 399fps. Thats great, but a tightbore, piston head, spring guide or any other air related upgrades will knock me over. MS110sp = 360fps tightbore = 10fps bearing guide = around 10fps upgraded piston head, cylinder head, and nozzel = another 10fps bottom line, around 390fps close, but not over, and gives you the ability to use upgrades. Anyone hitting +400fps with a prometheus MS110sp spring must have something else in there then the 110sp....either that, or they found a way to pump out +40fps with magic. Being said, it would seem that when springs say MS120 or MS110...they dont mean 120meters per second....only prometheus is close to correctly naming their springs according to velocity. |

Both of my systema M120 boxes shoot about 370fps with 0.2's. 330-332 with 0.25's. When i had the box in a systema body, it was hitting 470ish fps with 0.2's. I changed to a G&P metal body and it made a world of a difference. I think it may have had something to do with how the nozzle sealed around the hopup.

I agree with Droc. MS110sp will not go up to 400fps but I was right that my M733 will hit 395fps but it was short 5fps and was shooting 390fps earlier with a 6.03 tightbore. My chrono result is pretty close to ILLusions spring chart. I got my chrono out and testing a few old systema M120's and all of them is still hitting 426fps. I have to find them old sp110 on my tool box.

My MP5 is mostly stock (I like the reliability), has the spring & bushings upgraded, and aside from reinforced mechbox the only other upgrade is the bearing spring guide. I chronied at 325fps with hop up on and 0.25g BBs the other day. I should be getting around 375ish with 0.20g and hop off, but sounds like I'm only getting about 350fps. Not a huge deal, I have so many close encounters that I don't want to nail someone with a 400fps gun, but I had great brush cutting ability with my 150% spring and could get my BBs out to 150ft easy. Now I'm not sure, I should rechrony again.
