I don't know the vector at all, but does it have the older hop-up type with the ball bearing or the newer hop-up type with the metal arm?
The ball bearing hop-up type was never all that stable to begin with, so you might want to look into this if your vector doesn't already have it: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/maple-lea...ector-gbb.html This includes a new hop-up rubber too. It is possible to get this kit without the barrel too, but you need a new type barrel cut to use it, the older cut (what you usually have with the ball bearing hop-up if still using the stock barrel) wont fit without modifications to the barrel. I haven't tested it myself, but the reviews for this new hop-up have been spectacular on other forums, I'm looking to get this for my MP9 eventually.

It should be NS2 style since the bearing was pre system 7 and thats like....2010?
Ill take a look tonight if i get a chance My pistol has the bearing which made rhopping it all the more challenging. Turned out fantastic though. |

The new hop-up system has nothing to do with NS2/System7. They introduced in their very latest products, then Maple Leaf promptly cloned it and released upgraded hop-ups for most of KWA/KSC products.
Actually, some of the review make border-crazy range claims. The new system is like a semi-r-hop/flat-hop in the sense that the contact area is now much longer than it used to be, although it still has a bump instead of a long flat contact area.

Oh i thought the bearing system went out with the old design.
alright well ill be sure to check for it. If it does have the arm itll at least be super easy to rhop lol wondering if i should use 50 degree or 70 degree material though... |

I gotta say I expected a lot more, but this is definitely why it's inconsistent.
Either way, impressive range and accuracy for such a shitty little hop rubber lol Also, it DOES use the metal arm, also not a great design, but it's a hell of a lot better than the bearing. |

jesus christ... for the last 6 months I was under the impression 60 degree hop up referred to the angle of the lips.. makes a lot more sense it being the temperature rating... lower temp = softer rubber.
I googled the rHop thing.. I like it.. more surface area making contact means more friction/backspin...*edit* also because of its size and mass it will be less susceptible to cool down. Rubber and silicone are already an insulator, but that tiny little hop up nub will still freeze easily because it has no mass. The "degrees" are degrees of hardness. Typically Shore A scale.
Harder is more wear resistant, but has less friction. I've got a section on how flat hops work in the "how airsoft guns really work" writeup in the noob section if you wanna read up on it. Circular end to the hop window, open ended, and with weird side contact, I'd have to file the sides down flat to glue the Rhop down at the very least. Would be a challenging one to shape, and I'd do it, but my maple leaf kit is already on its way lol |

I will be sure to read up on it... Softer, like snow tires.. that explains a lot of whats going on with my build..
I've been working on a GHK for the last little while and am slowly building up the confidence to post it haha. I must say though, this thread has been very helpful! |

Looking down the barrel I figured it was more like the PDI-W or firefly in length, but this thing looks like it's barely able to handle .25s Downright impressive that I was getting the results I was getting with that little thing |

I'm not really surprised. It seems to be a lot easier to get the BBs spinning in gas guns, the much higher initial velocity probably helps a lot. I can get over 200 feet of range (with maybe 150 feet accurately hitting a standing player every time without wind) with my hi-capas between 290 and 330 fps easily without even changing the hop-up rubber, yet sometime have trouble to get an AEG to even send a BB 200 feet with a regular style hop rubber at 400fps. For piston driven guns, the long contact patch of Maple Leaf & others rubbers or an R-Hop/Flat hop makes a world of difference. While the longer contact patches still helps in gas guns, the gains are nowhere near as impressive in my opinion.

Yeah that's what I figured too. You can apply more pressure to the BB at the hopup without it jamming or even losing muzzle energy.
Although, it's a really shitty way to apply more hop lol |

Got the hop kit today, two things i can say for sure right now; the hop rubber is a 70 instead of the stocks obvious 50 degree hardness, and the hop arm looks to be a much better design.
will shoot it this weekend and see how it goes. |
