One thing you guys forgot is that KSC manufacturing is done by KWA. If H&K pursue KSC they are going to sue the KWA company in Taiwan (which Umarex has a ground)

If copying the likeness is legal in the jurisdiction of manufacture, there isn't anything anyone can do. They would go after the importer and have the US ITC block import at the border. If they wanted to go after the source, they would have to find violations at the point of manufacture and file complaints in that jurisdiction. Keep in mind, patents and trademarks are not obtained or even valid in every jurisdiction.

For those with KWA HK products, rest assure that spare magazines will be available through Umarex.
So at least, those who just got a HK weapon are not totally screwed. Replacements parts through the ProShop will be available too, I think.

Well that sucks. KWA makes a good pistol, and VFC has a lot less experience with gas pistols (almost 0). Just look at what a flop the steel CO2 1911 was. KWA/KSC guns and magazines already have a proven track record and immense aftermarket support.

They'll probably also be more expensive. Stupid move.

nothing more than a business decision.. KWA probably negotiated and paid for a certain amount of time with the license... VFC probably outbid them on the renewal.. simple as that.

Sucks for the user if vfc can't get their shit together though.

VFC has a M&P 40 at Shotshow. Price stated in the video was $135-145.

Pure guess but I assume porting over the entire Hk line was too big a job for them and they already had the Smith and Wesson in the pipeline. We'll probably see the Hk line start to show up in 6-12 months if the got the license to do the entire Hk portfolio.

I've heard M&P9C to be in the 190 mark..

What I reall wish to see is KSC/KWA internal in a VFC external gun.

VFC makes great externals (realistic material and dimension) while KWA makes functionally nice guns.

So it is a non issue then.

It is interesting as there will be both KWA and VFC MP7s distributed by Umarex. How is that going to work?

Actually, I've been looking into this. Looks like KWA will not longer be allowed to distribute their designs (i.e. the HK lineup), but will manufacturing the lineup for Umarex. Kinda sucks, because Umarex seems rather shitty as a company towards customers, but in the very least, it means that you'll be able to access KWA made stuff for the meantime. They will also be selling the magazines for this stuff at Umarex as well.

KWA also manufactures all the stuff for KSC still. I haven't found this bit out yet, but it seems like the Glocks are still part of the KSC lineup for Japan (they don't care about copyright infringement there). It would just be a matter of finding a line in to Canada from Japan for KSC marketed models. For example, you can still find KSC Glock 19s with metal barrels from factory.

Some of this is from official lines-ish (KWA hasn't come out and said anything, nor does it looks like Umarex has yet), so this obviously can't be confirmed yet. Hopefully things will go well.
