Thanks for everyones help, it looks like I'm decieding on the following course of action.

I'll be creating a C8. I'll start with purchasing the m4, order the c8 body, and go with the nunchuck battery to increase playtime. I don't think I'll bother replacing the notched barrel, although I will upgrade to a solid casing and whatnot to get rid of the wobbles associated with m4s.

Thats all I'm going to start with. Once the basic concept is in place, I'll slowly build up to my ideal machine, including the elcan sight, which seems a must, the internal upgrades, and the finishing touch will be attempting to mount a m203 grenade on it.

Any foreseeable flaws in my little plan?

You can use the G&P made front conversion sets, which include everything and the sweet 1 piece sturdy barrel.
For battery case, you can opt for the crane stock/viltor battery stock, although there don't seem to have any canadian army using these stocks.

The C8 Metal body you plan on buying will fix most of the barrel wobble on the M4. the barrel wobble problem comes from the metal barrel flexing the plastic body where the two join, so with the metal body, you should not have much wobble.

To fix any further wobble... http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=10301

But overall that sounds like a decent plan.

And good luck with the M203 mounting... it'll take a lot of thought if you want to make it authentic:

PAQ4C and PEC2A are both issued in Afghanistan. While I play with neither (the last thing the C7 needs is a to be even more front-heavy), I do keep a barrel mount for one mounted, to give a hint of what could be.

since the C7A1 is fully automatic, with NO 3 round burst like most people think, get the M16A1 and convert it, and put that metal guarder body on it, and get the G&P ThermoMags that are sued in all standard Diemaco's..
